Why would anyone be talking about a team that THE COMMITTEE deemed not worthy of inclusion in the pursuit of the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP?

Well, IF [notice I made it a big IF] TCU and Baylor whip their opponents handily, and one of the Favored Four gets whipped likewise, there will be lots of folks talking about TCU and Baylor.

I would take TCU over any of the 4 playoff teams, but the fault here really lies with the Big 12 for not getting enough teams the last 2 years to have a CCG.

42 - 0 with 13 minutes left in THIRD Quarter.
TCU left their punter at home.

Yep, and if it isn't TX or UofO, the Big 12 isn't really going to push back that much....unless the Longhorns want to help out other conference members, which is the crux.

If UT was inclined in that direction, they wouldn't have started the Longhorn Network, which caused the split in the first place.

You give up a chance at a quality non-conference opponent to play one of your own. Now you're getting it figured out. Maybe if TCU and Baylor start the season at 1 and 2, then have maybe K-State ranked 5, Texas and Oklahoma in the Top Ten at the start of the season, someone would be 1 or 2 by the end of the season with just one loss. Ain't gonna happen, but it makes as much sense as putting 5 SEC teams in the Top Ten. The shell game that has always been college football isn't hard to figure out. I figure Michigan gets into the Top Ten to start the 2015 season with no more change than a coach....
