Buy a can of Wintergreen long cut snuff, the brand makes no difference.

Put a REALLY small amount between cheek and gum [ not in the lower lip] and forget about it. Don't spit.

You will get enough nicotine from it to calm your nerves and stop the headaches.

That one can will last you for 10 days or so and you'll be over the hump by then.

[quote=palAnd I realized that I could never quit smoking as long as I was drinking.[/quote]
Not the first time I've heard that. Probably something people should be aware of and prepared to do ... have to quit both at least for a while.

I've been extremely allergic to cigarette smoke my entire life(blurs vision and seizes lungs), so what do I do, take up the pipe of course. Strangely the smoke from pipe tobacco never bothered me since I never inhaled it. I recently had a major surgery on the sinus's and will have to do the flush's for life along with meds and damn I miss the pipe, just holding it makes me want to lite up for the aroma. Sorry for the story, I got pretty hooked on lots of coffee for a time and cutting myself off from that was a killer for headaches, lasted about a week.

Tried that once, no need to again. It hasn't been bad except after I eat. The craving then only last a short while.

Quit over 30 years ago. Stopped having head-splitting, wall-banging, four or five day headaches several times a year at the same time. Don't have, haven't had, any cravings after about the first week.

A friend at work is planning on a small revolver for his frail mother. Would this be a good one for a weak small framed person?

Quit when I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer February 2 2008. Still have a craving now and then while enjoying a good beverage.
Good luck and don't wait for those 3 evil words "you have cancer"

I quit 10 years ago this past November, best thing I've ever done. Never did get headaches. Patches for 6-8 weeks and chewing gum did it for me. Getting past the first cig in the morning was the toughest part for me; a routine change cured that. For me, it was a lot easier to quit smoking than it is to lose weight. Good Luck

I quit smoking four years ago and would love to have a smoke right now.

Several days. If you make it 10, you're clear of the physical.

The headache is gone today and so is the craving. It is getting easier by the day.
My wife and our daughter that lives with us is wanting, trying to quit, but having a hard time of it. Maybe now that I am getting easier to live with , they can get it done.
