I guess we all enjoy thinking of mixing things together. My latest thought is to ask if anyone has loaded some 125 aac blackout bullets in a 30 cal 99 shell i.e. 303,300,30 30,etc. These things are sold as hunting bullets, even the old 303 should put a better velocity on one than the tiny brass they are sold for. I was thinking of getting better or longer range use out of my 303s. Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

Somebody's got to be the first, go for it. No reloading experiment is wasted, it's all about gathering the statistics.

I've been loading 110 grain half jacket bullets in a 303 with satisfactory results.

I used 6.8 custom competition Nosler bullets in my 270 Titus and they kill the crap of stuff. If it leaves the barrel in an orderly fashion, it will kill stuff.

My hunting buddy left for SC yesterday for a pig hunt. When he gets home I'll ask him to load up some. his son is big into the 300 Blackout, Joe.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

Brings to mind the old debate between those who advocate light and fast versus big and slow. Bottom line they both have their place and both kill stuff. While I have always been an advocate of big and slow (in .30 and bigger), if I had a gun which shot most crazy accurately with light and fast bullets I would probably go that route with it. A moot point for me since you can't drive a 125 grain cast bullet any faster than a 200 grainer, given the same alloy.
