A VERY COLLECTABLE 2nd EDITION COLT WOODSMAN SPORT, SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL CHAMBERED FOR .22 LR. WITH A SERIAL NUMBER OF: 40053-S. A 1950 PRODUCTION DATE.

CONDITION SHOWS JUST A MINIMAL AMOUNT OF FINISH WEAR.

THE FACTORY ORIGINAL BLUING IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION WITH ONLY SUPERFICIAL BLEMISHES TO THE FINISH AROUND THE BARREL END AND MINIMAL BLUING WEAR ON THE FRAME.

THE COLT WOODSMAN SECOND SERIES PRODUCTION DATES WERE: 1947-1955.

2ND SERIES: A MAGAZINE SAFETY, AUTOMATIC SLIDE STOP AND MAGAZINE RELEASE LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE TRIGGER GUARD.

They are grip adapters made to change the angle of the grip slightly and were popular at the time. I only have one with my Woodsman of that era.

Yes they are grip adapters and in the day they did come with 2, however because they were small pieces, ppl that bought these pistols lost or misplaced them and they became kind of a rare commodity.

Very nice gun. I have a 1950 sport from a few months earlier with the rare fixed rear sight. By far my favorite rim fire pistol. Whoever buys this is getting a great pistol. Bump!

Yep, that ought to get it sold. I've owned a few others and shot them all, and while Smith 41's and some HS's can be more accurate; there has never been and likely never will be again a better made .22 auto than a second series woodsman.

I have the Second and Third edition of the Colt Woodsman and they are about as good as it gets in a field carry 22 pistol
