I finally finished building a mauser custom 35 Whelen with a 1 in 14 AB barrel. I get 2 inch groups with nearly any bullet I feed it but the 225 gr nosler BT makes one ragged hole.
My quwation is how does the 225 perform on game i.e black bears and whitetails? Anyone have any expierence?
I have forsaken the nosler BTs for a long time as I have had several failures in the past in smaller calibers. I dont want to make the same mistake here.

The 225 gr BT has a thicker jacket and is well suited for Elk sized game. Using this bullet for WT deer and Black Bear from a 35 Whelen will be no problem. Nosler has discontinued this bullet and will be replacing it with a 225 gr Accubond later this year.

I have taken about a dozen cowboo's with the 225 launched from a 358 Norma and it worked just fine. I was so pleased I used it on elk and nilgai. It should just work fine in the Whelen on big critters. -Doc-

JD338 Hope my rifle shoots the ABs as well as the BT then. Will be off to the store before work tomorrow to scarf up the last boxes they have of the BTs.
