Hey guys, ran across a P14 barrel while cleaning out my random stuff closet. I picked it up few years ago from gunbroker. We did a chamber casting of it back when I was still in school and it came out to be a .300 H&H Ackley Improved. Anyone else ever come across such a caliber in a P14? It seems by the markings to be an original military barrel that would have originally been a .303 British. I've been told by some the difference in bore diameter from the .308 bore to the .311 would be a great accuracy issue but I've seen many a P14 in .300 win mag, so what would the issue be?

No issue. Might have come from a 1917, which would have a .308 barrel. Slug the bbl and if it is indeed a .311, just fireform some brass and load it with .311 bullets.

IF you don't think you will ever use that bbl, I might be interested in taking it off of your hands. I like 1917 based big rifle builds.
