Even though I am retired I could get into working in San Diego. Started this morning by escorting two lovely ladies to coffee at our favourite coffee shop a quarter of a block from the beach. As true NW guy I am a Starbucks gold card holder but this little shop that my son and daughter in law are part owners of is a great place to sit and visit. The tall guy next to the ladies owns and runs the place is is one of those guys you just like from the moment you first shake his hand.

The coffee is great there to and he made me my first real macchiato. Pretty darned good and enough caffeine to make me skip my afternoon nap.

Then it was off to lunch where I was forced to eat shrimp tacos again. It was not real hard to force me. wink

Next stop was the Racine & Laramie Tobacconist in old town, a shop that has been in business since 1868. Their in house brand is a great tasting and easy smoking cigar and at $2.50 a stick a real buy. They will be seeing a lot of me.

Back at home it was an hour of studying Spanish on line to see if my old brain has enough left to learn an new language.

Then it was time to get out the laptop for some project management scheduling. More brain stretching learning both the software and the work of scheduling a real construction project.

I am not missing the rain and cold back at the farm. smile

Scott,

Looks like a good time is being had!

Where in SD is the shop? I go to SD every year for the OTL Tournament. Friends live in Bonita and we are always looking for good joints to try!

So, how does it feel to be naked of your rights?

Spend a lot of time in PB, though normally at the bars!

Have you been to Cass Street Bar? Great steak sandwiches!

There's actually some conservative areas of SD.

So far that is the only drawback. I do feel naked, all the time. Since I only came with a carry on bag and a briefcase I did not even bring a firearm. There is a 1911 cocked and locked within reach of my bed but nothing when I walk out the door. I am researching what it takes to get a permit. Things are changing here for the better thanks to the ninth. If I can get a permit I may change my residency to here. I could then get my non resident WA permit as WA is shall issue for non residents and I can just change my OR permit address. That would make be legal up and down the coast.

The new business would benefit from the CA residency.

Scott,

Looks like a good time and it's always nice to take in great weather.

If I remember, the is a Jim Croce restaurant there. I realize it's sort of a chain, but wanted to go anyway. Didn't get the chance.

Nice to see you're having fun. All work and no play......yadda yadda.
Does the tobacco guy do internet orders? I haven't smoked cigarettes in years, but an occasional pipe is a nice thing.

SD is the friendliest big city I have ever visited and I have visited a bunch. I have yet to see anything that caused me to be wary.

What it takes to get a permit: it's who you know, or who you blow. In the PRK, both being a requirement is quite likely.
