Guns don't kill people, drivers with cell phones kill people.

It's a novel concept. The only thing required is to put the red dot on the target and glance down to the window for 6x. There are several issues that need to be addressed and lots of hard time on it to see if it's a better way than a 1-6/8x or offset red dot.

I got to handle one late last year, the set-up was not as awkward as I expected picking it up. We did not get any trigger time on it, but the transition between the dot and the scope did not take long to figure out.
I felt that the cheek weld stayed pretty constant, it was more of a training your eye where to look to make the switch from the CCO to the scope. I'd have to use in the field to finalize a decision on investing in one.

I wish Leupold would've invested all that R&D into a decent reticle for the VX6 1-6. Even freaking Vortex can get that right.
I can't see it being better than a 1-6. I use 1-3 way more than I do 6x.
Anybody know what the FOV is on the 6x?
your flippant remarks which you so adeptly sling

I don't see the point of the whole deal when you can have a 1x or 2x on the low end scope. OR if you prefer just roll with a red dot. its not like a guy can't own 2 guns and just use the one for the intended use it fits best with.

Combat. That's the point.
The only reason that red dots exist is for speed. The only reason that magnified optics exist is for sight.
What's faster- reaching up and turning a knob and then regripping the gun between each target/engagement? Or driving some dude to the ground at 10 feet then instantly identifying and smacking some dude in the grape at 200m just by shifting your eye to the bottom of your red dot?
I use 2-3x a lot as well, always because I'm in an area where 1x isn't enough to target ID, yet 6x doesn't provide the FOV and speed needed. It's that same reason that offset dots are used. It's faster to just roll the gun 45* and use the dot, then to turn a knob.
Competition shooters in Open Divisions use two optics for a reason. It's faster then turning a power ring. The only reason that Tactical division shooters don't is because they're not allowed to. The D-EVO is faster still...... Theoretically.
Blue,
The FOV is one of the issues that remains to be seen. The way it works FOV is less of a concern then a traditional scope. Think of it as a bifocal- looking straight through the red dot is normal, then you just glance down and the target is magnified 6x in a window.
The concept is beyond sound. The execution is what remains to be seen.

As silly as it is, pay attention to the end- that's all that's required. The eyes man! Watch the eyes!

it has an interesting optical path, next I wonder wonder how well it will actually work with a T1, finally for over a grand I would make do with what I have.
