I already had a nice shooter in 357, but this Colt SAA showed up and it sort of just took over my "need" feeling. So now I have two 357's, but it also put the Ruger on my For Sale list

Is that SAA with the Bisley hammer the same gun that's described in your buddy Mike's book? Yes it is and it didn't come cheap... I forget how many years it's been now, but I was shocked when Mike sold off most of his collection to finance Class 3 WWII era toys. Maybe knowing they went to a good home just down the road helped ease the pain.

These two were must haves. Top is a pre 64 model 70 supergrade .458 win mag in mint condition. Bottom is a Winchester Model 21 deluxe grade.

Stumbled on this pre-war M70 in north Idaho and had to have it. A 270 no less...

I would say there were a lot more whimsical purchases I did not make and regret than whimsical purchases I did make. Lot of cool things have escaped because I hesitated. One example is a S&W 586 factory configured to take Millet rings on the rib. Another was a Ruger #1 A SS in .257 Roberts. Of the whimsical purchases I did make, a good number of those involving used guns turned out badly. Often times it didn't take long to figure out why they were for sale used. I had better luck with new gun whims. Tom

Schrap, is the two-hundred-twenty-two enough for a quartering shot on a rabbit?

Well, Dan, I can tell you where this a 46 cal target underhammer that is gorgeous for 7 small, on Highway 29 south of Warrenton, Va.
probably weighs about 30 pounds.
It almost came home with me.... Almost...hand grenades....why did you not bring it home? Details man, details! D
I am..........disturbed.

No doubt it would be better with a Mcwhirley stock and fast twist...

Sako 222 magnum Mannlicher carbine... That is awesome! Love a nice full length woody... There is some seriously nice stuff on this thread but it's also interesting that a lot of 'low end' pieces have been scarfed up and enjoyed. To each his own, indeed...

These two Sakos, both in .222. One is a heavy barrel and one a full stock.
