Where are you finding them? MIDWAY discontinued most if not all models.

They still have the .35 Whelen, which is the one I am considering.

I have several of the Ruger 77/22 and 96/22 barrels in 17HM2, 17HMR, 22LR, and 22WMR that GM was clearing out a few years ago. All of them worked well and the quality was outstanding. My favorite 10/22 has a 24" stainless, fluted, sporter contour barrel from GM.

I have read that GM was one of the sub-contracted producers of the old MidwayUSA brand of Adams & Bennett barrel, but I don't know if that is accurate/correct.

I haven't been on their site lately, but I think you can buy them directly from Green Mountain.

I did not find any prethreaded, prechambered barrels at their website. (http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/)

If I missed them, please let me know. Midway ticked me off when they discontinued all but 4 GM Mauser barrels.

Once you drop out of the stress relieved hand lapped custom barrels for $300 category, Green Mountain barrels represent good value.

I have got good groups with Green Mountain barrels and the bore stayed clean in 45/70, 55-60 short, and 22 rimfire.

But for the 7mmRM, 6.5-06, and 25-06 projects in 2015, I paid the extra and bought a number Pac Nor, Benchmark, and Shilen Select Match barrels.

I just used a $100 blank to serve to fire form for my expensive blanks. It shoots stupid accurate.

I have used GM, A&B, Wilson, Shaw, Shilen barrels over the years and have been pleased with the results. They might not be bench rest accurate but they have all acquitted themselves well on paper and deer. Brownells used to sell a line of pre-threaded pre-chambered Mauser barrels you might check with them.

They still do. And they're pretty good.
