I see these from time to time on Gunbroker or Gunsamerica. Are there still any .223 bullets made that are safe to use in a tube fed gun?

I'd consider the 64 grain PowerPoint.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Get some ballistic tips.
Those plastic tips should be ok.
Should be.

Those look to have a pretty sharp point on them.

Sierra still makes round nose Hornet bullets in .223.

Those look to have a pretty sharp point on them. Do a little research on chain fires in a lever gun (hint: you have nothing to fear).

I do see that there are a few bullets below 50gr. that are blunt nose. I had looked before at the bullets above 50gr. I noticed a lot of the lighter bullets are .224 dia. Why is this.

For the old Hornets and Bees.. The Bee first came out I believe in a lever action.. Rem. and Win 46 grain for the Hornet are Hollow points.. They would work in the .219.. I believe it was originally loaded with a 56 gr. hollow point.. One thing you can always do is just load two rds. one in the magazine, one in the chamber.. I do this when I shoot 75 gr. Vmax in my Marlin.25-35. Personally, I would not chance any sharp point except the flex tips in a magazine of a lever gun.

I just sold my 336 .219 yesterday, but I used Midway Dogtown 35 gr. hollowpoints. Never clocked them but should be about 3500 fps.

I do not really think the magazine detonation to be a problem.
I use Remington 50 grain PowerLokt Hollow Points (PLHP) in mine. Ken Waters was high on the accuracy of that bullet, as do several other accuracy buffs. I like the cannelure. I don't push them really hard . I want the bore to outlast me. Mine was supposedly fired less than 60 times by the original owner.
I have used some plastic tipped bullets in mine before. They feed OK in the Zipper, not so in the Bee as they are too long.
For heavy bullets, use a fast twist .223 or .22-250. I'm sure one could make the lighter bullets humm from a Zipper.
I view the Zipper as a predator/varmint rifle for farm and ranch use, even if accuracy is pretty darn good. I only have access to one small prairie dog town. We controll it but don't want it shot out.

Sorry guys, IMHO the above PLHP bullet is blunt enough.
