Pretty much horsecrap that Edelman didn't get the MVP....IMO. Yep. And Butler being and undrafted rookie.. You think he's getting a raise?
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

I don't know that every loss or unsuccessful play has to have the blame laid somewhere.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

The way I look at it:
If team can't get coach 1 friggin' yard by running the ball to win the game, they deserve to lose and the coach cannot be blamed.
But if coach doesn't have the confidence in them to do so in said manner, coach deserves to lose, and can be blamed.
In short, Old Petey screwed the pooch big time IMO.... A-fricken men!!!! Halas don't kick or pass, Ditka don't kick or pass, Lombardi don't kick or pass....Landry might have overthought it though. Put it on the players.....don't put them behind the 8 ball with the odds on your stupid play calling.

Well it wasn't his best play call ever that's for sure. But I can respect what he was trying to do. Just like at the first half, they were there to win, not play it safe.
I'm not saying it was the call I would have made, but I can't exactly say the game loss was because of the call. The quarterback did his job, the receiver did his job; they didn't screw up. What happened was an absolutely outstanding job of pass defending. He got the read, made a one step correction, bumped the receiver out of the way and made probably the biggest play of his life.
Everyone's talking about how the Seahawks blew it, but someone ought to give Butler some seriously huge props for that play.

To me, the BEST part of the entire game was Butler and Mathews. Butler (undrafted rookie out of the University of West Alabama - really, there's a West Alabama?) making huge plays and THE play at the end. The dude was working at Popeye's Chicken 4 years ago, then two years at a community college and two years at West Alabama. Undrafted, signs to the practice squad, and boom. Mathews was undrafted, cut by the Browns, went arena league, CFL, injured and cut by the CFL, and was working at Foot Locker when Seattle gave him a try-out call. He had ZERO receptions until last night.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

I can remember Bo Schembechler and what he woulda thought about such a call. He would be smiling ear to ear after seeing a team lose the game by running a slant over the middle on the 1 yd. line on 2nd down and plenty of time on the clock...

Makes you wonder why he wasn't playing the rest of the year. A guy who obviously has the capability to make plays and is a big target which is exactly what Seattle needs from a receiver, but they ran out the freaking midget squad every game.

The lower risk and greater chances for a Seattle TD was giving Lynch the ball. Carroll gave the game away to NE with that boneheaded play call. You have one of the best and most powerful RBs in the NFL (Lynch) and Pete-eee should have used him from the one yard line. Chris Collingsworth was dead on the money with his opinion.
