Picked up a used Ruger 10/22 to do a build project.
My "new" 20inch 10/22 (std profile - liked a stretched 8-1/2in barrel)has a dark grey laminated stock.
Was taking apart to SWAP THE BARREL with an 18-1/2inch factory barrel, and was surprised
that 20inch tube appears SCREWED into the receiver!
That 20 inch tube won't budge!
Is it indeed screwed into the receiver?
Should I let a gunsmith remove the stubborn barrel?I do have a vise on the workbench I could chuck it in,
but was told its easy to crack the ALUMINUM receiver if one isn't careful.RECOMMENDATIONS? What should I do? THANKS.
