Lost a good friend the other day, Bob was my senior by 22yrs a US NAVY veteran and member of our church. He was orphaned at age eleven fostered by Fred and Agnes Walters and moved to Creston, NE. At age seventeen, he enlisted in the US Navy and served his country in Saipan for two years from 1944 to 1946, during WWII.
Enjoyed a beer with him a time or three while hearing about his Saipan adventures...Godspeed Bob may your heavenly seas be tranquil.

Nice touch, Woody. That is what they will play when I cross the river. RIP, shipmate.
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”
Sorry to hear that Flyboyflem. They are really getting scarce. My wife lost her uncle a few yrs back . He was at Pearl Harbor that day. Didn't talk aboutit too much. Now I am off to a funeral after I deliver some drywall and a door for a job. Rudy was 87, never served but his brother was killed in WWII. Now they are together again,,, bitter sweet.
