These are out of order - modification 2 is in the center and mod. 1 is on the right. Showing the differences in #2 & #3 with the different barrel lug sizes and one slide being serial numbered, pistol #1 also has the slide serial numbered. This shows the difference in the frames of #2 & #3 for the barrel lugs. Modification 2 included some internal differences in the safety as well as the 'D' shaped lever - other than that pistol #3 & #4 are the same. The only difference between #1 & #2 is one piece, the safety lever, which can be interchanged - pistols #2 & #3 are classified as the same yet have more differences and the parts will not interchange. This shows the internal differences in the safety in pistol #3 & #4 (top) Last edited by GeneB; 02/17/15. Reason: correction & added note

When the mag was empty and he handed it back the "Soprano" took it back with a handkerchief in his hand, put it in a ziplock bag and said, "thanks for the fingerprints." These are easier to cock, have a more durable finish and have the bugs worked out of them. A lot of these pistols spent there lives in a drawer. Buy one with condition! For example, the 1907-13-2 group, later production has SAVAGE in big letters on the side while the earlier do not. But the grouping was established and put in print a long time back and no one has wanted to change it, I guess. Savage...never say "never". Rick... Join the NRA...together we stand, divided we fall!
