Just got my 7-08AI back from Jim Kobe. Started life as a 6mm. Looking forward to stretching this guns legs a bit. The gun was throated for 168gr bergers. The specs:

26" shilen match Sendero contour
Shilen trigger @ 1.5lb
Hs precision stock skim bedded by jim
Trued early rem 700 action
Hs precision DBM
Talley 20moa base
(not pictured)
Seekins Rings
Vortex razor HD 5-20-50

Im looking for mv of 2750+ with 4350

i plan to shoot this rifle to 1400+ yards for fun, i suspect it will be very good @ 1200-1300 but will go transsonic around 1350

Nice, I like it. 7mm-08 are very user friendly and fun to shoot. What scope you running?

Really cool I am going to build a second one soon. Was also thinking about buying one of hornadys hydraulic forming dies for it. Think it would pay for its self before the first five hundred rounds were fired

Any plans for an adjustable cheek piece? Might be difficult to achieve consistent eye placement with a 50 mm scope and that stock.

It ought to be a low recoil shooter!

it will probably get something, not sure what until i get the scope on it. Ive had this stock on other rifles with larger objectives and havent had any problems, but i havent shot other rifles 1500+ yards

ive heard people say rl-17 unfortunately thats the only RL powder i dont have. Ive also heard of people getting better velocity out of longer barrels with slower powders such as 19 and even 22. Im hopeful to find a bit of 17 here soon, and maybe some ramshot hunter

I tried some RL17 a few days ago with 162gr Amax's. It gave great velocity but I'm not sold until I can try it in warmer temps. I have heard of some stories of it not being as temp sensative as it's advertised.

I've shot my 6.5X47L with a hefty load of RE-17 in 20-85º...no real change in POI, maybe 1/2"...10 FPS difference...? That seems quite temp stable.

That's good to hear. My temps here can swing from 110 down to 20 and so far Varget has me spoiled in regaurds to temp stability.
