Looking for help. I have not been active here lately, mostly because the Campfire has been very slow on my computer. It takes forever to open and to load the next page. Its the only site that I am having this problem with, although the new Snipershide is a little slower than the old site.

Can someone please help, been missing you'all!

If you have not, then load Adblocker plus on your computer. It helps.

https://adblockplus.org/

Pick the download based on your operating system.

In my opinion AdBlock Plus is the single most important add-on that anyone needs to greatly improve their surfing experience!

My advice would be to get CCleaner and use it at least once a month to clean out all the temp files, check for registry problems and inspect and disable crap you don't want or need from autoloading at startup! I'd also recommend Revo Uninstaller to uninstall programs you don't want or need! It does a great job of inspecting and repairing registry files left behind by the original programs uninstall. Most machines run much better with just these little bits of maintenance!

I don't know about the newer computers and the different anti virus methods, but you used to need to de-frag on occasion to help speed up the computer. I don't know if this is still a valid method or not. miles

+1 and you don't need to be a techy to use. One other item I drone on about because it is overlooked and that is to create a Restore Point. Once you get everything running tip top- create a restore point. that way if things go south you can return your computer to a better time. I create one before running MS updates and it has saved my bacon.
