Hello Savagemen, I ran across a 25 at the local shop. The guy wants 450 for a fair condition gun. I thought I would ask the experts if this is a rare deal or a real dud? The metal is pretty good but the stock is pretty scratched up. Thanks for your help.

Are you talking about the recent Savage Model 25? What caliber is the rifle?

Bah, sounds like a $200 gun. For $450 the thing better come in the original box.

The Model 25 wasn't made very long, 1925 to sometime in 1929 possibly. They don't come up much.
You would need to use standard velocity ammo in it should you pick it up.
Seems high to me too. I'd give it a month and see if its still there.
