I drove from Kingsland(Hill Country) to Castroville (100 miles) to get non ethanol gas for my outboard. There is a real business opportunity for someone in Kingsland, Llano, Marble Falls or Burnet.

Seafire, I think most everyone of us is familiar with all the additives available to battle E10 gasoline. Thanks for suggesting seafoam.

It is just perplexing to me that there is little non ethanol gasoline available here in oil country..

In Wisconsin my summer home, most every town carries non ethanol gasoline.

Mercury released a deal two years ago or so that if the % of enthanol increased in gas they were no longer going to offer a warranty or restructure it.

Most or all of the non ethanol gas in north Texas comes out of OK. and the extra charge for it is the delivery fee for the long drive. 60 miles from here to first station with real gas.
Most of the stations are the old looking non branded kind.
Asked guy behind the counter why they had it, he said it's the only thing the farms in that area could run without problems.
Think, 500 gal up in the air tank at the farm. The corn and water separate from the gas in the bottom of the tank. Where does the filler hose hook up on the raised 500 gal tanks.
The very bottom. So the farmer lets the fuel sit during the winter, goes out in the spring fills the tractor tank with corn and water and the problems start.

Makes sense.

Heads hardware Goldthwaite, Tx.

Has it, not sure if it's a pump set up or not. Look them up and give a call before you go. Don't have any idea how far this is from your location south. The one you went to is shown also.

Thanks, that is the sight I used to find the Castroville jobber that had the pure gas.

There is one in Fredricksburg but they only carry 100 and better octane.

You can't even buy pure gasoline at the racks/refinery here in West TX anymore. E15 is the one you really have to worry about, not so much E10. All Ethanol fuel sucks though.

We get ours from a place called Chigger Ranch in Dublin TX.

There is supposed to be a place in Lubbock but have not been there yet.

I get about 25 gallons when we go and it lasts all summer and into spring.
It takes less to mow the orchard and the mower and weed eater have more power.
Use it in the chainsaw mix as well.

We have several stations (all Conoco) here in SE Texas because there is so many bass fishermen creating the demand. You can sure tell the difference. Additives may save your engine, but they don't replace the "ummph" you get with real gas.

While some of the newest small engines are E10 "acceptable" I maintain its better to buy the non-oxy. Shop rates up here are approaching $200/hour. Non-oxy is worth it.
Many of the smaller engines aren't run all the time like chain saws, blowers, mowers and trimmers. It allows settling of the corn based sludge. While Sea Foam and similar additives "help" it is not complete protection. Non-oxy is.This is the result of the EPA's "renewable fuel standards" (RFS). Like everything else in government they started with a 10% dilution - now they want 15% and even 20%!!
Burn the phones to your federal reps and don't let the higher concentrations happen. Farmers are already sending 40% of their corn to be distilled. RFS has distorted the ag. market and farmers are abusing the land - chasing 200 bu./acre corn. Planting up to fence lines, tilling up CRP and marginal ground as well.
There is massive over fertilization going on which is not good for the soil.

The "ethanol lobby" has millions to spread around. Make your voices known.

Most of the stations in Iowa have 100% gas, 10% Ethanol and E85. Many also have diesel.

Alcohol is not permitted in any certified aviation fuel. Likely expensive, but may be cheaper than an extended drive. Visit your local airport.

I buy same town. The little shop/gas station back into town on the north side. 3 places in Dublin to buy. Other I think is a distributor. Dublin is on the way to farm, so not out of my way.
