Looking for a portable very accurate LH 223
Any one heard if CZ is coming out with a LH 223

kk got one of the Lh Rem CDL in .223 early this summer.

So far I like it, but hasn't really been put through the paces yet, doubt if 75 rounds have gone through it. Gave $700 for it, had to tweak the trigger, still not as light as I'd like it, but mucho improved over outa the box.

I have a LH CDL also, and it shoots very well. The CDL is more portable (lighter) than the VSF, but the wood stock may not be as durable in Alaska. As mentioned in the above post, the factory trigger needed help.

Here's another option, CZ says that their left handed centerfire that they're bringing out next year wil be in 223 Rem.

I've got one of their left handed rimfires so I'm holding out for their lefty big bore.

I'm kinda enjoying the wood as I've been using synthetic stocs for a long time. Still I'm sure I'll turn the wood ugly and eventually get a Mickey for it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I bought one of the first LH CDL .223s last September. Had to adjust the trigger and glass bed. MOST of the time it will shoot 10 shot groups with at least 8 of the 10 being covered with a dime and often all go under the dime at 100 yards. That is about a .5 inch group. My load is the Winchester loading info of 26 grains of W748 with the Hornady 50 grain SPSX. Another load with 3031 powder is as good. That is one of the less expensive bullets you can buy. I don't have the OAL in front of me at this time but the bullet is seated very close to the lands. I am VERY pleased with the gun. The quality is what it used to be in the old Remington 700 of years ago. Being a wood stock I would guess you would really need to seal it inside for use in Alaska.

As a feelow lefty, I will offer that I really don't like the offerings from Savage, as they are just clunky and chincy. BUT. I bought a Savage 16 FLSS, a stainless, synthetic a few years ago as a calling rifle. It's twisted in 1-9". Honestly hard to get it not to shoot. I have great loads with 40 Sierra and great loads with 75 A Maxs. Recently tried the Barnes TSX after reading about BS stoning deer with it. It shoots great as well.

I am done buying Savages in hopes that someone else will make a better fit and finish rifle, but for a beater/clunker, it can't be beaten, literally.

As a downside. I think the CDL's are still wholesaling for $625 +

My wife has bought the LH CDL in 223 as a donor for a 204. It hasn't been fired yet, and may not be before the new barrel arrives. It's currently sitting in a McMillan BDL stock, and a Jewel trigger is on the way. Fingers crossed that it ends up a nice rifle....
