Right now, I'm thinkin' Christian Fundamentalists are the biggest threat to the good ol' USA. They're supportin' kaos in the Middle East cause it fulfills one of their "prophecies". Heard some MM goof say Rabin was kilt cause God didn't like the Oslo accords. Wheelin' political clout to ensure the distruction of mankind so they can git to heaven. God's pullin' strings with a blind eye to human sufferin'. With a God like thet, who needs a devil?

I feel our own government, politics and dishonesty within our own government is killing us internally aside from lack of God in our homes. VERY few politicians have ever been in the military, nor have they ever had to fight for anything but votes. I for one am sick of lifetime politicians. They should have a max of 8 years and have to get out, so at least we get some fresh blood once in a while. Many of our senators and congressmen are so old they have live in nurses. They are so far removed from technology and what is actually happenig around them. They should be forced to buy commercial airline tickets, rent-a-cars and standard hotel rooms like the rest of us. No more lobbiests and donations (read that as criminals needing favors). You wanna be a politician, you do it on your own with your OWN credentials and money. They must live under the same social security laws and pensions as the rest of us. Non of this voting themselves a $10,000 raise every other year. Make them live off of the same podunk social security as my parents do. You would see that program change in a big hurry. No perks, just work like the rest of us. I think things would turn around....mainly the economy, which would allow mothers to stay home with their kids, which would strengthen America from within. Give the excess money that the politicians blow, to schools, which would attract better, higher paid teachers that want to teach. It is all an innertwined mess that will never get fixed. I think people don't vote, because they don't like what hey have to choose from. There don't seem to be many people running for political offices that have the people's best interests at heart, only their own. I find it VERY hard to get out and vote, because I can't stand 98% of the people running for office, but I vote, because my forefathers died so that I could. Flinch

It's the members of both major political parties that have allowed a steady stream of socialism to creep into their parties.

President Bush's new "faith based" program is particulary disturbing. It will use the churches to redistribute the collectivist loot.

I am not in the anti religion crowd, I just don't believe that this mix of church and the social services government is a good thing.

We blame the politiceans, but who continually votes these clowns into office? The majority of the voting population that would rather have the promise of a handout, then a leader who will provide the opportunity for individuals to provide for themselves.
Do you have any idea how many Christian Fundamentalists post here? Do you really consider folks like myself, Waders, Cheaha, and a bunch of others the greatest threat to the USA?

I can't believe I've been missing the chance to hear Godly men profess their faith by overlooking this post!! I will have to hit the old ALL button and pick up where I left off[Linked Image]

Sonnie, I count you as one of my best buds on this board, but not talking about an issue because somebody might call me a name, get mad and leave, or hear the truth and it might make a difference in their life is no reason to not talk about politics and religeon. We get torqued off by many things like people not accepting the .277 as the best possible bullet diameter ever created, doesn't mean we don't discuss it[Linked Image]
At least you're not in multiple catagories!! I'm a Fanatic, a Religious Nut, a Christian fundamentalist AND a lawyer. Pretty soon somebody will pop up with gripes about Salmon Fisherman and Washington Residents! Then I'm toast! I might as well strap on my turbin, buy a box knife, and go book some airfare!

Mike, basically when it comes right down to it, we most all believe in the same thing. Most have professed it already, I have, no sense arguing the point. The point has been made over and over here. To continue only causes hard feelings which is NOT what it's all about. When several start preaching the same thing they get labeled fanatics and loose the audience and what they were trying to accomplish. When a point has been made, to repeat over and over generates contempt. Conversion is accomplished by ones own life style, non believers need to see it in real life. To start talking to anyone and tell them the way they are living is all wrong, you need to do this or change this or believe this, don't think that works too well. -- JMHO -- no

AMEN Brother Sonnie. Now thou pass the collection plate whilest I tap the tambourine and the chior sings Just As I Am in a soft and persuasave manner.
If you are in the top row start now, it will take you two or three minutes to get down here. If you came in a bus it will wait. If you came with friends, they'll wait for you.

Sonnie and Boggy,
My belief is to walk the walk, NOT talk the talk. 'Nuff said, it has been beat to death here of late. Pass that tamborine!

Here is my opinion, flame me if you have to but here goes

The three biggest threats

1) Religion - The fanatical christianity that attributes anything good to god and anything bad to the devil. The beleif that if we say we beleive in god and do something wrong they can say 100 hail mary's and all will be forgiven. I beleive in the right to believe as you will and beleive that is part of America but please dont save me because if I am going to hell at least I am enjoying the ride. I personal y beleive that christianity is the greatest joke on the western world.

2) The unions I beleive are almost a bigger threat to this country than Saddam Husan is. if you dont like your job then change it and except the fact that if you do your job well that some one will actually pay you for it. Where is the ownership in saying that if I screw up it is my fault and where is the need to say that I must constantly improve myself so that I can keep myself marketable. Right now we have too many individuals that have been using the unions as a crutch and a tool to get their way. Too many people beleive that in todays world when I graduate from highschool or college that their days of learning are over. This is my philosophy " I will succeed because I will do what I need to do to keep my self trained as a commodity that will be usefull not only to my current employer but my future employers as well and by doing so I will ensure that I have an income to support my family with". I speak from experience as my father was in the UAW for over 30 some years and I saw and heard what antics were played by unionized members. Currrently, if a union does not liek the way someone is running their business they can litterally cause the business to go under, this is how hoodlums collect insruance money.

3) President Bush
I feel that I have made a mistake I tried very hard to decide who to vote for last election and to me it was a toss up, except for when I thought about the second amendment. Bush got my vote, and from the time he got into office I have been very sorry. I helped to keep the second amendment but the cost has been very great to this country. We now have a president that fails to pay attention to internal problems, the worst unemployment in this country since 1994 and last night on the news they inidcated that only 28% of the country feels that the economy is doing fine while another 48% of the country feels that economy is getting worse. The president is connected very closely to the oil industry and wants to destroy the Alaskan wilderness to do so. Here in Oregon he wants to ensure that we dont have as many wild fires by increasing the logging so that there aren't as many trees to burn. In my opion he has done more to hurt this great country economically and environmentally than anyone else I can think of. At least our last president only had an adultery problem in comparison.

I personally do not know if this Iraqi war is a personal thing, I mean after all the president even said something to the idea of "I know he is an evil man, he even tried to kill my daddy". The president cannot be and should not be emotional when it comes to the possibility of laying down mens lives. This is a United Nations issue not just the a United States issue.

I am a vet and have been very lucky in my life, but before someone tells me to go live some where else it will be a very cold day before I do so. These are my opinions and I know I have stepped on some toes but this is how I feel. I am not necesarilly right but I do love my the country, even with its problems it is the best country on earth.
Hey Cuzzin, didn't you see the SMILEY FACE at the end of the post. That means just kiddin or pokin fun, I think? Course I don't know nothin anymore I'm retarded and senile donch know? I'm so dumb I thought Bush was doing a good job, the ecomomy is taking a hit but it has been up forever and 9-11 has caused many companys decline along with company greed in high places. Every company downfall drags support companys with it and their support companys, domonio effect. ---- I agree about the unions, poor help hide behind their dues. But what do I know? Clueless people that vote, thats what the problem is.

Those that believe the evil oil companies just want to destroy the Alaskan wilderness out of greed. Those that have absolutely no clue about how big ANWR is, what type of terrain it encompasses, and how very, very little of that environment would be effected by oil development.
