The research project is going to look at deer movement vs weather/moon/wind etc. And how hunters think those factors affect deer movement. Link to the project website and complete article: http://ecosystems.psu.edu/research/projects/deer/news/2015/take-our-surveyTake our Survey!
Posted: March 13, 2015 How you think deer respond to the moon, weather, and hunting? Here's your chance to let us know. Take our Survey!
There seems to be a lot of common wisdom that exists when it comes to whitetails. Such as, “it’s near full moon, so the deer are only moving at night.” Or how about, “a cold front is coming, which is why the deer are out feeding.”
Do you believe those truisms? Are they really accurate? Well, we are going to find out. But first, we need you to tell us how you think deer respond to changes in weather and moonlight.12 easy questions, no registration or sign up required. Dale

Why the survey? I just read last year in a PAGC publication that the moon phase stuff was nonsense. This came from PAGC biologists. I took the survey, but I really do not know what they will get from it.

Dunno why the survey. Maybe a way to get folks interested and talking instead of just their usual whine "There's no deer"
Maybe to get people who think 'Deer don't move after Event X' to realize that they do move after Event X but not during Event Y.
Maybe to help justify the grant or whatever funding they got for the research.
Maybe ?????
