Does anyone have any knowledge of a gunsmith by the name of "E.H. Wolfe" I picked up a 7x57 on a Danzig action that is stamped on the barrel with his name. it is not a fancy rifle by any means. clean lines and well executed. it just fits. has a kollmorgen post reticle scope in old style leupold rings.

There used to be a gunsmith with the last name of Wolfe who was from Port Townsend, Wa. I don't remember what his 1st name was, but I do know that he passed away sometime in the mid 1990's. He had at the time of his death a Swedish Model 94 carbine that he was in the process of sporterizing for my brother. The rifle dissapeared and was never seen again. If you look up the campfire member here by the name RandyLindquist and send him a pm he could probably give you some more information. I don't know if this could be him but I see your from the Northwest so it could posssibly be.

I don't. My dad picked up a couple of these right after WWll. One for him and one for mom. I wound up with one and my brother wound up with the other. I don't even know if he would still have any of the paperwork from the gunsmith such as serial # etc. I'll pm him this thread and maybe he can add some info to it.

Yeah, please do.
I bought one unfinished at Kesselring's, but thinking back it would have been late 80's/early 90's.

Be nice to have that gun back, I dont have any of the paperwork from the work being done on it, all I can say is I believe his first name was Ron. He had turned the barrel down to remove the steps, rebuilt the bolt and jeweled the extractor and was in the process of building a stock for it when he passed away, by the time I got over their to try and get the rifle back someone had already taken it.

Im in Wa state, picked up the rifle used in Yakima.

Nice throwback to the past Billc

And a shooter too!

Looks like it's in great shape.
