I have a size L BGE with the wheels stands and other items, all still banded together in their boxes. I won the grill in a silent auction around Halloween. I was excited about it at first, now I'm thinking of just selling it as it's still NIB. The thing is so fuggin heavy and seems like a total pain in the azz. Not even sure how I could get it out of the box, assembled and back to the pool deck without breaking the thing. Need advice here, sell it or try to make it work. What say you?
I would keep it because you will never regret it. I promise!
I use my WSM and my pellet smoker waaaaaaaaayyyyyy more than my BGE. Both are capable of turning out fabulous food as it's the cook not the cooker.
The BGE is overpriced patio bling IMO that doesn't justify the additional outlay.
Oh, but it can sear! BFD. I'm searing using a #10 can the some green beans came in with some holes poked in it and a charcoal grate and it hits over 900 degrees.
Selling it today to another 24HCF member. I wish him well in his new cooking adventure but honestly can't bring myself to buy into the hype and chant the BGE mantra.
FWIW I labored a long time over deciding whether or not to buy one. Glad I did as it was one of the better investments I have made. I run mine all year long unless it is just too nasty to be outside. It will light when it is so cold my propane grill won't. I use it as an oven, a grill a smoker, a cold smoker. Lots of guidance here on this forum and one old sourpuss it seems (gotcha Denny! )

I cold smoked 6 or 8 lbs of cheddar cheese in January with mine. After aging it for 2 months it disappears fast around here. A buddy at work told me he would buy all the cheddar cheese I cared to smoke as long as I shared with him
