39.99 for a brick of thunderbolts or Anerican Eagle. Geeeze! Last American Eagles I bought were $17.00. Think I'll shoot mine up and sell the rifles.

Thanks for the rink. I'd like to hold out until I can find a supplier that as enough powders in stock to order six 8# kegs to make the most out of the hazmat fee and shipping, and I don't need six kegs of H-110. I did just theoretically order 1/2 case of RWS 22 lr ammo but I'm not sure if the seller has it in stock or not as it allowed me to order it, but then their website showed it out of stock. Maybe I just eaked the order in just in time? Well, that didn't go so well My order made it from Virginia to Kentucky, got turned around by UPS and the seller says they can't ship to AK.

40 bucks for 400 rounds of AE? YGBSM. Last "brick" I bought was 15 bucks. This is just criminal. I should get a bullet press and start scrounging fired cases -- set up for the 22 TCM instead. Good Lord.

Lots of variety at non jaw dropping prices. 39.99 for a brick of thunderbolts or Anerican Eagle. Where the hell is that?!? Here in the North Bay Area and even the Sacramento Area, I haven't seen anything close to what's pictured! This was at the gun vault in mountain view.

Was on the Midway sight two hours ago looking at Rimfire ammo. On the tenth page they had $7.69/hundred boxes of blems. Limit 10. I don't know what constitutes blem .22 ammo. Edit to add: all gone.

After months of only being able to get a box of this then a couple boxes of that, nothing consistent, I bit the bullet and paid $.08 a pop for a thousand rounds of flipping WW Wildcats today to have whatever consistency that'll buy me. Honestly not sure if I should've bought more or less but what's done is done.

Cabela's HAD ten bricks of Remington thunder bolt @ $26.00 for all of about an hour. They had five bricks each of Norma Tac-22 and Norma Match @ $59 and $79. I have never tried the Norma stuff so I bough one of each.

Sucks around here in central NC too but I haven't been looking really hard either. Speaking of 22LR mainly as that's the only rimfire I shoot.

Nothing on the shelves here and I haven't been to Walmart at opening time, for a while. They used to get a little every Tues, Thurs. and Sat. but you had to be near or at the front of the line, or the same people would get them, every time. I got a supply to give away at Quemado, and for me to shoot by being there before everyone else, but I could only do that because I am retired. Once I got the small supply that I needed, I have not been back. I guess I need to go just for research. The Walmarts that are open 24 hours a day, I could never get any. miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.

Took a vacation to Gatligburg TN and found some 22 LR Blazers for $6 per 50 so I passed. I've come across 22's here and there in WI and pick them up when I find them reasonable

The .22LR situation is still dismal here in northeastern Oklahoma and, from what I can see, equally pathetic in northwestern Arkansas.
I live in a smallish college town of 16,000 population that is the county seat of a county with 44,000 residents. We have a 24 hour Walmart with an ammo display that constantly looks as though it's been raped, and two gun shops inside the city limits, with a third outside of city limits. None of the three LGS's have any .22LR in stock. We have Atwoods Home and Ranch in town and they sell ammo, but I haven't been in to see if they have any .22LR or not.
Cabela's in Rogers, AR was wiped out of .22LR when I was there last -about two weeks ago, now. Academy in Rogers didn't have any. Academy in Tulsa didn't have any. I don't want ANYTHING bad enough to set foot in Dick's so I didn't bother looking. Bass Pro in Broken Arrow ain't my favorite place, either.
But one of my LGS's did have a schnitzit load of IMR 4350 and 4064, so I bought several canisters of each....
The reason?
I can use that in my little Ruger M-77 Ultralight in .250 Savage -which for the last three years has been to me what my old 10/22 Deluxe was.
They also had .457" round balls and some 777 and I bought a bunch....
The reason?
My Ruger Old Army is now doing what my 22/45 bought right around Sandy Hook never got much of a chance to do.
Cabela's was loaded with .223. So was Academy. Both had plenty of 9mm.....
One LGS had a smokin' deal on a CZ 75 clone that looked decent, so I bought it just to take advantage of recent decent 9mm supply. I'll probably buy an AR so I can plink with a rifle a bit cheaper than I can with my .250 Savage.
In my area, there's a gun show virtually every weekend, within an hour's drive of my home.
And that, right there, is why I think I'm not finding .22LR on the shelves in retail stores. No real proof, mostly idle speculation, but I suspect that my local Walmart doesn't have any because a small group of people who are able to are getting there when the shipment first comes in and buying it all up, only to re-sell it later at highly inflated prices at one of the many gun shows in the area.
Someday, I hope it returns to normal. I'm still shooting, though... I have 9 boxes of WW Wildcats I'm keeping in reserve until I can find a brick to replace it, but until then, it's cap n' ball, my .20 Beeman R-9, and .250 Savage to the rescue !!
