I recently found a smokin' deal on a basically brand new Gen3 Glock 27. I was hoping for a G23, but I could not pass on the G27.

I am now in the market for a holster for true concealment. Anyone have some good options?

Milt Sparks or Mitch Rosen. Rosen's ARG series is excellent. Lots of folks like the Crossbreed stuff, but I just don't like Kydex.

Get a very good belt (Sparks, Rosen), and it makes life much better. A great belt can make a good holster even better. A crap belt will make even a great holster suck.

I've got a lot of nice, expensive holsters, but for my Glocks, I've come to really like the Galco King Tuk over all others.

It's comfortable, conceals extremely well, is easy on, easy off & it's relatively inexpensive at around $60 street price.

Agreed! Galco's King Tuk is hard to beat for the money!

The King Tuk looks like a knock-off of the Crossbreed. I'd rather give my dollars to the inventor than the plagiarist. I haven't used either one, but if I ever decide to try that hybrid style of holster, it will be the Crossbreed.

To answer the OP's question. I've been very happy with Milt Sparks, Alessi and Kramer. The first decision is IWB or OWB, then start sorting through each companies offerings. Ultimately it becomes a personal decision that only YOU can make. But if you buy from one of the companies I mentioned (and a few others) chances are you'll be happy with the product, and have little trouble recouping your money if you're not.

There are lots of decent belt options out there as long as they're stiff enough to be supportive, and wide enough to fill the slots in the holster. Anything from the aforementioned holster companies, the Beltman, or even a Filson double thick harness belt are all GTG.

I have both as well as the same design from Tommy Theis; the Galco is the best & most comfortable of the three.

I'm not usually a big fan of Galco, but in this case, they win.

For OTWB carry it is hard to beat the DeSantis Speed Scabbard. Just picked up my fifth the other day for 3" S&W K-Frame size guns. Was $45.00 at a dealer near my parents in Ct. and you don't have to wait months to get it...

For IWB carry I have been using a Remora. The one I use for the 1911 is the standard closed top. The one for a Glock 19 has the reinforced top. Very comfortable and so far has never shifted position. Several friends who have tried mine bought them also...

When you say concealment what does that mean to you? What is your build, typical weather and clothing, concealability vs speed?

I am about 6'0, 200lbs and a local cop. I place immediate accessibility as the number one decision maker. I have found appendix carry is horrid for me and go with inside the waist, straight cant, slightly behind the waist for a Glock 22. Most of the time I am wearing a light cover jacket or shirt and the consequences of someone seeing my gun and calling it in are low since anyone responding will know me immediately. I am spoiled since I make my own holsters and literally made a half dozen before I decided it was perfect for me. My partner grabbed one of the "throw away" patterns and felt it was subtly better for him based on his build (higher sweat guard to block love handles hanging over). During the summer where the only option is shorts I will go with a SW Shield in a kydex pocket holster. It severely compromises speed for covers rules #1, have a gun.

Change that around to different body or preferences and you will have a different idea of what works for you individually. I have a bum shoulder on the strong side so something as simple as an FBI cant causes me problems but other guys hate a straight up draw.

A few words on hybrid holsters and the reason I tend to hate them...I cannot speak for every brand but I find the leather side does not have enough reinforcement. As a result, after a few months the leather starts to collapse and when reholstering I have seen a disturbing amount of people use the muzzle to open the holster and in the process point the gun straight into their own body. I never experienced this when using the MS summer specials with the reinforced tops or a .080 thickness kydex holster. I also tend to stay away from the .060 kydex for this reason as well.

In the past I always used the heavy leather belts but now I just make sure they match the holster attachment so the holster is held in proper position. If you want to compromise your draw have your holster flopping around on the belt when you are in a hurry. My primary belt is a thin 1.75" BDU style belt and it fully supports the G22 and a spare mag with no problems. If I wear a suit for court I have another holster specifically set up for a thin 1.25" dress belt and there are no problems.

The best thing I can say is beg borrow and steal some holsters from buddies to see what works with you based on your body and balanced needs of speed vs concealment.

Been using Remora IWB's for the last month or so with both a G42 and Ruger LCR .38 and they're fantastic holsters! Never thought I'd like a holster without a clip, but the Remora has completely changed my mind. You can put them in any position you choose and they don't move.

I have a couple hybrid holsters, and while they're secure and fairly comfortable, getting the damn things off and on is a major PITA!
