I have never seen a #1 look like this, so many ruger #1'a are safe queens, it suprised me to see this 1978 vintage 30-06 1A.

But I hope this is how my #1A looks in 30 years. Just good honest wear, I would love to know the stories as that bluing wore off.

Hmmmmm...

I must be doing something wrong. One of mine -a 1-B in .30-'06- was bought new in 1987. It hasn't been a "safe queen" but it still looks and shoots like new.

Maybe mine will look like the the one in the photo in another nine years...

Maybe I should lay of the paste wax....
