Beer, beer and more beer. That's the best thing I found to drink when I had my last one.
There ain't nothing fun about them.

Beer and oxycodone. I like the way you think. If I didn't think I'd puke it all back up I might go for it.

Had Lithotripsy #4 done a couple months ago,..welcome to the club.! Water is your friend. If you drink enough, maybe you can get it to move at least to where it isn't causing as much pain. Then again, you kidney might be blocked off and the extra water will make your kidney swell,...ie, more pain..... Get thee to a Dr. if the pain doesn't let up, they've got IV shots for that kind of thing....

Was at the ER this morning. 4mm about a third of the way below the kidney. If it were 5mm they'd do some sort of intervention.
Even with the oxy it's not a lot of fun.

The worst pain I've ever experienced, worse than even childbirth. When a woman tells you this, you know it's painful. Mine was the worst pain I have ever experienced, even more painful than chopping of a chunk of my big toe with a chainsaw.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Even with the oxy it's not a lot of fun. Drink lots of water, 4mm is passable. I've passed 4.5mm-5mm on my own. Bigger than that and I run into problems. I could pass quickly or it could take weeks. When I'm in pain it usually doesn't last for more than a few hours, till the stone moves again to where it's not obstructing flow. Your mileage may vary.. Only alternative if you don't pass it is Lithotripsy, which will bust it up or go in with a grabber thingy (technical term) and fetch it. Only bad thing about the grabber thingy is they definitely DON'T go in thru your nose to get it. Had to do that on my last one, luckily I was knocked out...

I feel your pain- I had one measuring 7mm...had to get a bypass stent installed until the Lithotripsy, then on the day of the Lithotripsy, they could no longer find the stone! Nice...to this day, its a mystery as to where that stone went.
It hurts like a bastard, that is for sure.

after I had about 12 or so, I really don't recall the actual number, I quit taking vit c ester and have had very few since.
RE the pain, unfortunately you learn to deal with it. Have not been to the hospital for one in years. Doc prescribes me pain meds to keep on hand and muscle relaxers, without that combo pain killers don't do the trick. Heck in the ER morphine won't even tough the pain until an anti inflammatory/muscle relaxer is added to the mix.
But you do get used to them, enough so that I just stay at home until it passes and then about a week after that I feel somewhat back to normal.
Have had them on fire calls before too, not fun there... enough so that I"ve had to back off the fire/wreck call and get my wife to come pick me up.
BTW I"m not ashamed to say fetal position and a few muffled screams come out sometimes, along with foul words, and such... but whatever helps pass the time..
What actually bothers me the worst is the constant urge to pee, but you can't get more than a drop or two out... ugh...
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

Had 2 bouts of kidney stones without medical attention. Just toughed it out. But OMG! It F'g hurt so bad I was hugging the bowl and hollering "Ralph"!
Figured out that I wasn't drinking enough water. So I now start my day by forcing down 2 large glasses of water as soon as I rise.

As everyone said the pain is out standing. Had one 8 years ago, never want another one.

I had one a year and a half ago. I think mine was 4mm. Living hell. I got lucky and pissed it out 20 hours later. the good news is you don't feel anything after it hits your bladder.
I have been drinking lemonade every day, hoping I don't get another.

No need to worry. Also it might not seem like it's fast enough this too will pass. Hope you get over it soon.

Had one about 5 years ago. Yea it hurt, but I was lucky. Only 3mm and I apparently passed it, never found it. Pain was bad for a day, then tolerable for 2 or 3. Since then no other issues.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.
