Mine is in .308 Win. stainless 22" barrel. I like the dull gray finish of the stainless and like the thumb safety at top front of tang area. all of this and it shoots good.

Planning on getting one in 300 bo, much cheaper than another AR upper. I've got my BIL on the lookout for a 300 BO, also. Planning to sell my CZ 527 carbine to fund it. The CZ is just too nice to use the way I intended to, and the Blackout would fill the same role with less guilt and cost.

When I picked up my RAR Predator in 223 on 04/01, the dealer had several RAR RRs in both 223 and 300ACC BO for under $400.

That's a hopeful sign that maybe the production of the RAR ranch model is catching up with demand a bit. I've only ever seen the .223/5.56 version and while another .223 is in the plans, I'm thinking of going with a standard RAR or possibly the compact version.

BUY A SAVAGE NOW YOU HAVE A GUN The RAR is so much better than the Axis that they aren't even in the same zip code.

A complaint call to Ruger might just get you a new stock. They are always willing to satisfy their customers

I've been pondering one in 17 HMR and wondered how they shoot. Boxer recently posted that he feels that the RAR in 17HMR is the best 17HMR out there. Or, at least that is how I interpreted his post in the RIMFIRE forum. Thanks. I'd missed that.

260,
How did the testing go with the 6.5? The Vanguards are great shooters and the Savage barreled Marlin XS7 is OK, but not sub-MOA with Hornady factory ammo. Haven't had a chance to shoot the RAR Predator yet, but if it shoots are well as the 204, it will be a winner.

I have two, one I bought for my son and one for my grandson. Both shoot 1 in. or better with more than one load. One is .30-06, one in .243. I haven't done anything but fix the triggers, I recently did away with the 'accu' blade, on the .30-06, reworked the trigger to a nice 2 pounds.

Yes, I have the full size American in 22Mag and am satisfied with it. If you use high quality ammunition, the accuracy is very good.

I did buy a Boyds laminate stock to replace the factory synthetic. Any issues with these stocks for your rifle? Planning on buying one for mine in 30/06. SuperCub no issues it dropped right in.You have to glass bed the recoil lugs in but that's really simple. Thanks .... I emailed Boyds and asked how long the forend was on the stocks for those RARs. She replied that they dont have that measuremnt for the RAR or any other rifles in stock. I replied with surprise that they didnt have a tape measure around to supply such info to customers.

I picked up RAR 30-06 to be a lightweight extra for me for a couple of years then my grandsons deer and elk gun. Loaded at minimum with 110 grain bullets the first 3 shots from a 10 year old shooting off sticks were a little over an inch.
I have high hopes for the rifle and the boy. Recoil is negligible with that load and he cant wait to go elk hunting in 2 years having worked up to full power 165's or 180's.

Boyds tends to have a "we'll take your money, but don't need your business" sort of customer service attitude. That said, when I got a stock from them with the barrel channel cut off-center, they replaced it without a fight, but they didn't reimburse me for the cost of shipping the defective stock back to them. Come to think of it, McM didn't reimburse me for the return shipping on a stock made wrong either. Maybe that is the industry standard.
