Was wondering if you guys have checked out the price check request for the '63 .300WM in the Hunting Rifles forum. The OP says the seller is asking $1200 and while there's nothing spectacular about it, I can't imagine it not being extremely well-bought at $1200 or easily worth more than that. Interested in hearing what you all think about it. John

It would be a steal if it is what we want to think it is....but would need to see it to confirm if it's in fact a pre 64 M70.
$1200 was about what I paid for the one I had....but that was awhile ago.Today they go for more than double that I think.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Need a link. Tried to find it.
I had one, traded it for something I thought I needed more at the time. Should have kept it.
They're pretty rare. IIRC the .300 WM was introduced in '62, that gun discontinued in '63. Roger Rule (The Rifleman's Rifle) shows 4,916 total made.
Blue Book lists .300WM, Pre-64's for $3,150 at 100%, $2,850 at 98%. This is not the latest Blue Book (30th Ed) and Blue Books are usually behind a moving market, fairly close in a static market.

Dirt, It's on the 24 hr. Campfire Hunting Rifles forum- about 10 lines above this one, and it's definitely a pre-64! John

If it's only 90%, it's worth $1,800. And 90% is showing a good bit of wear.

It looks pretty minty to me. A steal IMHO for $1200.

I commented on the other thread before I saw this one. I'd snag that one so fast, it would make all of your heads spin. And you guys know I looooooove the 300 win mag.. I'd have to jack the price up and re-sell it to winpoor for something like $2,000.00...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

GSP, What I'd like to to do is buy it, but I'm no way in the loop. Seems like a great deal for $1200 AND I don't have a thumper! John

That's a shame John as I though you were asking if it was a fair price and obviously it's way less than fair. IF you can get in the loop jump in with both feet:)

The OP, question asker, gun finder has had a PM and nice finder fee way before this bunch started picking it apart! BSA you know how I roll, let everybody else pick em apart all while the check is fast mailed to seller! v best WinPoor
