This falls under the category of stupid person asking a question.
I usually get a scope, mount it, zero it and leave it set for one load. I assume it is but: is it possible to get a scope that has the proper adjustments that would allow for two settings? Is it possibe to do this with something in the 2-7 range? I have never messed around with setting anything with more than 1 load.
Like I said, stupid person asking a question. I ask because I have come to the conclusion that for anymore hunting I am going to do, my 257 Roberts with 2 loads would work just fine.

Burris used to make one for the Sako Quad rifle, probably still a few around if a person looked hard enough. http://www.opticsplanet.com/burris-3x-9x-sako-quad-ballistic-compact-scopes.htmlOr just get a quality scope with repeatable elevation/windage adjustment and make note where the appropriate settings are. Probably never going to be a 100% back to zero, but there are several people who do that with some of their long range stuff and spendy optics.

Not a stupid question at all. I had not even thought of that before. The Burris scope looks crazy but that doesn't mean it isn't a good idea. Offical Campfire answer: You simply need a second Bob for your second load !

The Fire wisdom would dictate: FX-3 6x42 with M1 turret... Others need not apply... DF

I have a couple of rifles set up with QR mounts so that I can use a 2-7x33 for stalking/still-hunting and a 6x42 for field over-watch at first/last light. Can't see any reason the same QR mounts couldn't be used for the purposes that you are asking about. I have a Weave KT-15 that I have used for load development on dozens of rifles that have Weaver or Weaver-style bases.

If they truly don't line up enough to use in the field (check that first) then I'd get a 6X42 and M1's with the dope taped to the side of the stock.
I do this with my .308. For regular and sub-sonic loads.
