Has anyone tried working up a load the Dan Newberry's OCW method? Pros and cons??? I think I will give it a try.

Just another way to skin a cat. He's shooting groups but round robbin which lessens the effects of barrel temp. He's looking more at poi than group size but honestly your still trying to find the accuracy node which, from my experience, gives you the best groups and consistent poi. I try to find a powder that when you hit the node .5 grain (or .3 in smaller charge weights) up or down doesn't change much. Basically what he is doing. Since I load mostly during spring and summer I put more weight on what happens on the lower side because I know it will be colder during hunting season and that pressures will be lower depending on how temp sensitive the powder is.

If you followed that method you wouldn't have to bump your powder measure or whatever because anything within +-.5gr would be accurate.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

Guess that all depends on what you call accurate.

No. I tend to use Barnes bullets and tend to use their near max data. If it is reasonably accurate I am done.

I'm going to load up 44.2gr to 45.7gr of RL15 under a Hornady 165 BTHP for my 308. That makes six loads in .3 gr increments. We'll see what happens.

I probably wouldn't get my hopes up.

Yea I know but I got a phone call from the local police dept and was able to reacquire a Savage 16 in 308 that was stolen from me 6 years ago! grin So now I need to work up a load for it so I thought I would give it a try.
