Does anyone know anything about Winchester supposidly stopping Power Point production? A sales rep. at a mail order ammo supply told me about it this morning, but so far I haven't been able to confirm it.
Su Amigo--45

As a shooting sports retailer, I am inside the firearm/ammunition industry. There has been NO scuttle-butt about the Power Points demise. However, just for a definitive response, I have e-mailed Winchester for their comments, and will pass them along to you when received. PorkyPooh

Okay... Here's the latest scoop:

According to one of the 75 wholesale warehouses which provide product to us, the Winchester [X22LRPP] .22 PowerPoint is still an "active" production number. The 2003 production listings will be available in early November.

When I called, this afternoon, there were 8,000 boxes of that ammo on that one warehouse's shelves. The rep indicated it was a good seller. Usually, "bean counters" determine what will be produced next year. The indicators are the X22LRPP is a profitable product for Winchester/Olin.

PorkyPooh
