Hi guys. I need a little help on pricing a win model 88 in 308. Bluing is nice with no rust. Stock has the gloss coming off in spots. Not real familiar with the value of these other than gb prices. A gentleman has asked me to help him sell some of his guns and this would be a great help to me if you guys could give me any info. Thanks

serial # is a 136k number with an A after it. Seems if I'm reading right it would be early 60s production?

My reference says 1962. Gunbroker is your friend. Use the Advanced search and select Completed Auctions. Enter Winchester 88 and set the Sort By the highest number of bids. That way you will see the guns that actually sold first and not all the ones people are just wishing they could sell at that price. A quick look shows they are selling in the $500-$800 area depending on condition.

My list of Winchester 88 serial numbers doesn't show any alpha suffix, but an "H" prefix in 1969 thru 1973.
