I use old Bear razor heads, no inserts. Sharpen occasionally, and they work great. Arrows = xx75, 2117 that my wife gave me a dozen years or so ago. I am stunned by the cost, and complexity of today's bow equipment. Most of my stuff is 30 - 40 years old. The deer I shot the other evening, left a visible spray, and paint brush blood trail to a recovery after 25 yards in real thick brush!

tscott---I am glad to hear from other bow hunters who actually use "seasoned" gear... (hahaha). My Bear Whitetail Hunter II bow is probably 16 years old and I use a pad instead of a release because I actually like the feel of the bow string on my fingers and believe that if I want to pull a trigger I may as well use a gun... just personal preferences and please no disrespect intended toward those hunters using releases. I know I cannot shoot to 45 yards nor be as accurate like some of the hunters with the latest bow advancements, but I like what I use and haven't missed yet. Maybe when I have a ton of expendible income again I will change my tune but for this year at least my ole' Bear Whitetail bow will be out there with me. I use Spitfires with my bow.
Again no disrespect intended for the bow hunters with the latest and greatest. I am in awe of the accuracy of these guys and their machines everytime I watch a competition or just target practice. I know I could not do THAT with my equipment. I just keep my shots within my known accuracy capabilities and the deer don't run any further than 30 yards.

Beman 300 Black Max Carbon with a 125 3 blade Muzzy or 125 4 blade Slick Trick. Just shoot my Buck with arrow/muzzy combo at 30yds - double lung full pass through, recovered my arrow and he ran only 434 feet.
