Question for those who have been real world huntng with this caliber. Is the ballistics and accuracy as good as they write about it. Every time I think of buying one I look at my 270 and 25-06 and and wonder what I would see that was any better to hunt with.

I can't see that the 6.5 Creedmoor would be any better as a hunting round than the 25-06 and 270 that you already have. I don't know where you live or hunt, but 25-06 and 270 factory ammo is a lot more common than 6.5 Creedmoor everywhere I've been.

I'm getting MOA or better groups with Hornady American Whitetail and Winchester/Olin PowerMax from my 25-06 and 270.

270 and 26-06 are a lot of fun...but if a Creedmore is calling to you, feel free to pick one up and try it yourself...life is short.

If the recoil of the 270 or 25/06 were more than I wanted I'd take the step down.

I am a big fan of the 7mm-08 but the Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CM is really pushing me to try out.

If it comes down to a choice, I'd be inclined to send one of your current rifles down the road and add the Creedmoor. Unless your .270 and .25-06 are markedly different rifle designs or hold sentimental value, they overlap more than adding a CM would.
