OP Moses Campfire Regular M Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 1,801 North Carolina	In February I bought a Remington Custom Shop Model 7 MS .308 on one of the broker sites. The bolt face was damaged. I researched all my options and decided to send it to Remington. They said the extractor area was beyond repair and the chamber was damaged. Needed a new bolt and rebarreled/chambered. Cost $544 + shipping. I asked since it needed rebarreling could I have it in a .260 instead of 308 they said yes same $. Got an email from Remington yesterday the rifle has shipped and there will be no charge.

Anyway, glad they didn't charge you the $544. Coyote Hunter - NRA Patriot Life, NRA Whittington Center Life, GOA, DAD - and I VOTE! No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's. A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

Looked like a botched Sako extractor job and then shot blowing the extractor/chamber. Seller claimed it was fine when he shipped it. I sent it to Remington. I do not want to rehash what I shoulda/coulda. It all worked out. Yay Remington!
