Anyone have any pictures to post? How are they for workmanship and holding an edge compared with Doziers, Ingrams, etc.? Is the contact info on his site still accurate?

Thanks.

No personal experience but from what I've read W.C. Davis knives are first rate. The designs are clean and classic, the workmanship appears excellent and he uses first class materials. Good looking well built sheaths too, which isn't something every knife maker is good at supplying with their blades. I've been tempted to pick one up several times just never have yet. Yet... smile

i remember him as a very respected & popular maker from the 80s & maybe even the 70s. all opinions of davis were very positive .one aspect to remember is that the alloys & heattreat ability of some early customs were not as sosfidicated as 2015 expectations certainly this opinion does'nt apply to all makers.craznky72

The knives I see him turning out now use CPM 154. My guess would be that a long experienced respected knife maker would get the heat treatment right. But I don't know that first hand.

here is a photo of one that I owned for many years and just recently sold to a collector. He wanted it because it has the optional ivory handle.

22WRF, beautiful knife. Cranky72, you speak of him in the past tense. Has he passed away? I tried to contact him but no reply. Does anyone know if he's still making knives and if the contact info on his site is still good?

Thanks.

I'm not having much luck in contacting Mr. Davis. I'm looking for one of his semi skinners if anyone has one (or knows of one) they'd like to move along. I'll be carrying it so it doesn't have to be perfect.

Thanks.
