We use big herring. About 8 or 9 inches long. 2 9/0 hooks, must be barbless. Lately we just anchor up in our spot, and drop our bait to the bottom. We got 2 this morning. This one and another that went 28 lbs. Back at it in the morning. Our season consists of 11 days for the whole year. Got to get them while we can.

Love that size! Get those babies while you can, I usually do the same for about a week and a half while I go remote. We did good this year and I got my fish for the year in 2 trips. They love those herring!

Well we went today and it was a bust. No fish. Beutiful day, but a minus tide makes it tough to get down and keep your bait on the bottom. Hopefully next weekend will be good.

yeah. 1 fish/pp/pd limit. They break the season up so we have 2 days the 1st weekend, 2 days the 2nd weekend, 4 days the 3rd weekend and 3 days the 4th weekend. Having had shoulder surgery back in Jan. I'm not back to work yet so we can take advantage of the whole season. They let the tribes come in and long before they opened it for us(even let them long line the day before we opened) so it's not as good as it could be, but we take what we can get.
