I recently bought a Barmah Outdoors Kangaroo Bi-fold. Love it. Thing is thin and nicely thought out for holding essentials. Went through the wash once already and dried up fine. It was a little against my grain to spend $60- on a wallet but I am pleased I did. http://www.amazon.com/Barmah-Hats-Kangaroo-Wallet-2200BW/dp/B0082XJ6I4

Looks like nice leather goods. I looked at their warranty and this part of it gave me a pretty good chuckle. I have also been looking for a new wallet but didn't want to buy it online but may buy one from these guys just because I like their style. My son has the same front pocket wallet from Saddleback I have. His is about fifteen years old. Mine is about six months old. His looks as new as mine.

+ one on Elephant hide. Mine came from the then recently deceased gentleman who is in my avatar photo at the left. the guts are ready to be replaced after 11 years, but the bulk of the wallet will likely still be on my person when I die. And then it will last my son or grandson the rest of HIS life, too.

Just a piece of ele. hide sewed to a cheap wallet, no way worth what he charges for them. Which one do you have?
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

While Dave still offers the same warranty, the leather he uses is no longer the same as in the past. He used to offer a thicker, more substantial leather in his wallets. Now he uses a thinner leather product, more suitable for a metrosexual N.Y. city dweller. I tried to order a replacement wallet for one lost, but could not buy the same quality as in the past. Respects, Richard

Saddleback is still good stuff. I have a small bifold wallet and have given a few of the business/credit card wallets as gifts. Great products.

Whatever happened to the prisoner made wallets, the ones with the leather hand laced around them with a bass, deer, Rebel Flag or the like embossed on the leather... Were found in truck stops and roadside stations years ago.. Don't see them much now.

My best ever was an elephant hide wallet. Still going strong and lost it to theft after 20 years. Got all the cards etc back, but the bastard kept the wallet.
My most durable since is one fabricated from manta ray. Got about 17 years into that one now.

DaveKing: I used to go through one wallet every two years. I am a large person and fall in the water four or five times a year so wallets don't last me long. Finally my wife bought me an Eel skin wallet and it lasted me right at 30 years! It gave up the ghost about three years ago and I am now on my second wallet since the Eelskin wallet died. I would buy another Eelskin wallet in a minute. It was NOT overly thick leather - it was thin in fact, but wore like iron. I have a call in for the VarmintWife to see if she can remember the brand name for us. Good luck in your search. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy P.S.: VarmintWife just got back to me and she can't remember the brand name either.

Hold into the interception!
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...
