Has anyone ever hunted the lower Brule Reservation for deer. I am seeking information on the quality of mule deer and whitetail that are on the reservation.

I hunted there around 2003, saw very few muleys and no good ones. Killed a short tined OLD 10 on the last day, passed a better buck I should have killed on day 2. Its a dam good hunt, an Indian guide mandatory if you wanted to hunt Indian ground IIRC. I stayed at the casino, good hotel, good grub.
Lots of roosters to hunt after you kill a deer too

I was wondering if the first week of November would be too early. I know the rut is typically later in November but hoping to catch some bucks moving around before the full rut kicks off. My guide is booked and only has early November open.

I'm pretty sure the SD rut is the same time as the MO rut. Around November 10 should be great for whitetail.

I don't see how you could get better dates anywhere in the Midwest. Good luck.
Camp is where you make it.
