I have an invitation for a driven Red Deer and Wild boar hunt in Germany in Nov. I just bought a CZ 550 in 9.3x62 ,which I plan to leave over there for future trips . I'm looking for a good low power scope to put on the rifle . They say that at times the shooting can be fast and furious,at running game . any ideas . I would like to keep it in a reasonable price range. $300.00 to 500.00 .

Just returned from there 2 days ago.
May I suggest a Docter sight II instead of a scope? Had a chance to use one mounted on a Schoenaur carbine. Pretty slick gadget and I am really considering getting one to use here.

It's a German site but I'm sure you can search for one in English.

Typically, "battue" scopes are 1,25-4 (I use mine on 2x, except for in between long range shots in a clearing - most shots will be running at 10-30 m over a 9 - 30 ft. narrow shooting line and will require fast shooting. My personal std. drive hunting armament consist of :
- fair weather

FN-Browning 9,3x74R + Swarovski 1,25-4x24 (circle dot)

foul weather

Blaser R93 9,3x62 + Swarovski 1,25-4x24 (illuminated 4 reticle)

I don't know how you could do any better than a new leupold 2.5x8x36. covers the low and high end pretty well. fits your budget too! i have one on a 250 savage and it is a dandy. this scope could really handle all of your big game hunting chores. may want to check ring spacing first for your rifle.
