I'm looking at a D prefix serial number Rem 700 that has that ridiculous J-lock. What is involved in loosing it and what parts would i need to buy. Price for the rifle is good but if I have to dump a couple hundred into it to have a normal bolt then I'll pass.

You can get a PTG or Remington firing pin assembly for about $50. Swapping them is a couple minute job.

Did those J-locks have triggers that were modified by lawyers also?
I prefer classic.

You can get a PTG or Remington firing pin assembly for about $50. Swapping them is a couple minute job. took me a little longer....there is a big ole strong spring in there...
