I've gotten 78K miles out of the BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires that came on my truck, they still pass inspection but they are 10 years old. Can't complain for a 3/4 ton heavy duty Dodge. But, it's time for new shoes. I'm kinda thinkin on getting the same, but what say you? I need to stay with an E rated tire.

I'm running Firestone Trans Force AT's on my one ton Dodge, and so far very pleased with them. Before them I had BFG AT's and did'nt get 40,000 out of them.

I'd stick with the same as I have gotten 80,000 miles consistently with these particular tires.

Got Toyo open country a/t on my dodge 3500. Close to 50k and still good tread. I know several others with them and all are happy

I've got some Hankook A/T tires on a Nissan Titan with 90,000+ on them, mostly highway mes They've developed scallops from the truck's worn suspension components, but have enough remaining tread to break 100k if I tolerate the vibration.

I also had BF Goodrich but it was HDH ( heavy duty highway) . They lasted 72k and still had about 10 k of tread life left but winter was coming. I went with Cooper highway and like them as much but I dont think they will last 72k. Both are E rated on a 3/4 ton GMC.

I 2nd the Firestone Transforce AT tires. I've had 3 sets on my GMC crew cab. 80,000 is not a problem, do well on wet roads and have good traction.

Ran over 100k with the first set of Rugged Trail T/A's. On its second set at another 50k with very little wear. Lots of good tires out there, but if it ain't broke and the tire mfg. continues to make it, don't change.

BFG TA from Costco. I ran Toyo on my 04 duramax and only got 38k. The BFG's are working much better for me.

Just put open country a/t's on mine a little over a month ago. Like them so far but have a lot more miles to go before I can say much about them. Gotta say though....if my last tires got 80,000 and I had no complaints about their performance I'd not be looking for anything different!

Just put on a set of Hankook ATM on my 3/4 ton Dodge diesel. Had a set of Michelin highway tires. Had a little over 55k on them and had at least another 10-15k miles left. But, with the wife driving it more, pulling a trailer, I thought I would feel a lot better with a brand new set on the trucks.

I've had good luck with Nitto's on my one ton. Dura Grappler for highway driving, Terra Grappler's for off road.

Ah yes, the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" vs "fix it till it breaks" dilemma... FWIW, BFG rubber has worked really, really well on my Nissan Frontier. I'd tell you how many miles I put on them in 10 years, but I'd just be called a liar. Mine are AT KO's, but we went with the Rugged Trails on the wife's Highlander. No regrets either way...

I swear different vehicles use up tires differently. Even the same make and model.
Everyone raved about Toyos. So when I needed a set, I got them. Less than 35,000 later, they were shot. Slightly more than average driving. So I swore them off. That was a Nissan Xterra.
A buddy had the same Xterra, same tires. Swears he has 50,000+ on them.
Then I bought another truck. A 92 F250 4x4 diesel. It came with Toyos that had a verifiable 6000 or so miles on them. I figured they wouldn't last long. But whatever, they came with the truck.
60,000 + mikes later, they're still fine.
I truly believe this is why so many of us seem to have vastly different experiences with tire brands. Different driving habits, different vehicles, and different lots of tires off the line. That's all I can figure

I like the E-Rated BFG's, fine tires for a heavier [diesel] pickup, that said, have a Bud that will run nothing but Toyo M-55's on all his vehicles, [3/4 ton diesel and 4x4 Yukon], he does quite well and likes em a bunch. They also do very good in mud and snow.

I got 65,000 out of the originals on my 05 dodge 3500 and they were shot. I'am on my third set at 138,000 miles. Hopefully this set gets me to 170,000.

If you are getting 80K out of tires on a 3/4 ton pickup the rubber compound is way too hard (read BFG). There is a bit of give and take with tires. Class 8 truck tires have hard compounds and are expected to last that kind of miles but passenger trucks, not so much.
The Toyo open countrys are very good tires- just getting to be expensive.
I am very impressed with my Hercules Terra's as they have excellent dry, wet and snow traction. I have put 5k on them in 30 days. Driven in everything but deep snow so far. If they last 45K I will be thrilled.

Well, I understand there is a trade off between harder rubber compounds and traction. But I also don't drive this truck in a manner where that becomes a necessity. I have been pleased with the traction and also the mileage, I've never gone into a hydroplane situation, but with less and less tread, that becomes a probability. I want the most bang for my buck too, at a thousand bucks for a set, that aint chump change for me.
