Took some alone time last night and put the Kimber Mt that the wife bought me for my big "50" to the test. ( 300wsm) I am pleased with the results that I received. After getting some very good advice from a member here, on where to start with my hand loads. I was able to get this 3 shot group last night. Shots were taken at 100 yds with approx. 45 seconds between shots. Only tinkering was to shorten the front action and also front scope mount screw. Load was 180TTSX, Norma once fired brass, Fed 215gm over 65.4 gn of H4350. Getting a average velocity of 2950.

I'm impressed too. Were you shooting for the dime or did the wind blow your group 2" to the right??
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

And I was making a feeble attempt at impersonating Ringworm(from the other current Kimber thread...).
Nice shooting!
64-65 grains of H4350(or R17) and a 180 seems to be the ticket for a lot of 300 WSM's.
I get 2950 fps as well with that combo.

Sam, you make a poor Ringworm. Just too darn nice for that.

Great shooting and great rifle for a 50th!
My wife bought me my 84L Claassic 30-06 for my 50th, just that I was stuck working out in the wilds of Tanzania for my birthday, so didnt get to shoot it for six months. Lovely rifles though.

BSA was just trying to be funny. My girls always quash my excitement when I come home grinning over such a target. They say, "But Dad, you missed the bullseye" as they roll their eyes.
By the way, in case you missed it, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.

Iv'e been messing around with a little single shot .243, 20" barrel, 1 in 10 twist, tried about 5 different loads with it none were very good, last evening I loaded 5 rnds, with 34.5 grns of H-4895 and a Barnes 87 gr bthp, shot a .315 group 1/2" below the bullseye , at 100 yrds. That never happens to me I can't shoot that good. but I was tickled with it. Rio7

LOL I showed the target to the wife, and told her it was from the gun she bought me. She responded with "I paid 1000.00 for that gun and you can not hit the center of the target."
Oh boy.......

8 clicks left and you are set. Who was a he load guy. cpt, The Fire member that pointed me in the right direction was rug3, Jim gave me a ton of info that had when fine tuning his Kimber. Never gave me specific power charges, but only suggested points to start from. I want to openly thank him for all him help...

Yup its nice when the load comes together quickly. A 180 out of a Kimber at 3000fps is no pushover - good for everything NA has to offer.
