Over the years I have heard of quite a few teams called "America's Team" in many sport and at many levels.
In your opinion who is America's Team?
I say Minnesota Twins. The classic underdogger. One of the lowest payrolls and consistantly good. No huge names (except Cy Santana) or big salaries. Just lots of grit and effort. True baseball without a $150,000,000.00 payroll.
Any baseball fans out there would have to admit that things are looking good for the Twins right now. 3 games back, Santana on the mound and Liriano back on Wed. Tough times ahead in Detroit and Chicago.
Did I mention that we are getting a new outdoor stadium.
Time to dig out my Homer Hankie!!

I've only heard the Cowboys called "America's Team" in football. In baseball, the Braves are the only ones I've ever heard referred to as such.

Americas Team is the USMC, USN, USAF or US Army.
Pro athletes aren't worthy of the label.

My Father was a Major League Baseball Player (Detroit, Chicago and Cleveland) also served in WWII and he used to say that when the "Cowboys" were called Americas Team!!

I have to agree that it is cool that the franchise is owned by shareholder and that there is a 15 yr waiting list for season tickets,,,, I am from Minnesota and lived in Wisconsin. I even had the "pleasure" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> of seeing Brett Favre and a clan of cheeseheads run through my local bar looking for some goal post to pull down.
