The thread on best bang for the buck reminded me of the worst bang for the buck that just sold on GunBroker.
A Big Bore just sold for $800. That's nuts, and I can't believe guys will pay that much. It's just a Renegade with a .58 bore. Just buy a Renegade, and have it bored out to .58. Instant Big Bore!

Yeah, the "oddball" T/C's are bringing crazy money. I'd like to have a Cherokee .32 just for the heck of it but can find much better use of the money they bring now...

Well, sort of true, but I have to ask: if a guy wants to spend his own money on something, who are you, or I, to pass judgement on him? What makes it our business other than ... arrogance?

Because I was interested in the gun, but i'm not stupid enough to pay that much.
No arrogance involved.

Just a little retro fever goin' on. Recurve and longbows are selling briskly as well. As I mentioned not long ago on another forum, there's even a lot of interest in old, single- action Pflueger fly reels.
The old TCs are solid shooters and you'll never run out of parts.
What fresh Hell is this?

According to the standard inflation calculator, $175 in 1985 is equivalent to $390 today.

LOL! I've got an old T/C Big Boar with absolute knockout wood that I've been considering selling, it has a T/C peep sight and about a hundred or two 600 gr maxi balls, it certainly WONT be 800 bucks either.

Probably not. The one i'm talking about was unshot. You'll be surprised what you get though. Especially, with nice wood.
