Is it 1/8" or 1/10"?
I've got a Tikka T3 Lite on hold in town... but I thought they were a 1/8" twist. Now I'm reading some posts from a couple of years back that says they are 1/10"!
Thanks,
Jerry

I think all the newer ones are 1-10. I've only seen pics of the 1-8 models, but they were all stamped 1-8 on the barrel. Without that stamp on the barrel, I would assume 1-10 twist.

They come in 1-8 and 1-12. It will be stamped on the barrel which one it is. They have both at our local Canadian Tire store.

I know the Ruger RAR 22-250 has the oddball 10 twist. For some reason I thought I'd read the Tikka 223 had it also. It may be 1-12.

If they were smart they'd twist them all 1:8.

Older Tikka T3's were twisted either 8 or 12". Current production T3's are twisted 10" (unless they've recently changed, again). I've seen pics of 1 in 12" T3's that weren't stamped with the twist.

Today I went to see if it was a 1/8 and was going to pick it up if it was, here's the deal;
The Tikka T3 stainless Lite 223 I had on hold was a 1/10 twist, on Sale $499.
The Tikka T3 stainless Super Lite 223 that was not on sale and was priced at $699. was a 1/8 twist.
Both were stamped on the barrel.
Brought my scale and weighed both, the flutes remove 4.9 ounces. The SL weighed 6#'s - 2.8 ounces, While the Lite weighed 6#'s - 7.7 ounces. I was curious and the weight difference was not an issue for me… the dollar difference was though.

I'd buy the Superlite and never look back....for the twist if nothing else. Eat beans for awhile. I haven't shot mine yet or even measured the throat. But I'll be doing the Rancho Loco mag mod for 75 Amax this weekend if I have the time.

I bought one, blued, for $525 in Dec 13 that's 1-10. I haven't tried any bullets heavier than 63 gr but it's good with every bullet I've tried from 40 to 63.

I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

Could You explain perhaps in a little more depth?
Thanks,
Jerry

When i purchased my New Left Hand T-3 223 last year it is a 1&10 and it is stamped on the barrel .
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Contact 16bore for his modified Talley rings for Tikka. They are the cat's azz!

Standard T3 lite stainless, 16bore's Talleys, FX3 12x. My son named it Blue Lightning. Shoots little bitty groups and sage rats way out there with 50 grain NBT over Benchmark. 3400 ft/sec, single digit ES. 1/10 works just fine. Shoots 64 grain BSB into little groups, too. Right, SAS? P
Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.
