Seriouly?? Witness protection program? My father in law is Leary about where he sits in restaurants, being in public etc, after 40 years in law enforcement. I run into felons I've housed numerous times on the streets out in public etc and have NEVER felt in fear for my or my families life, but I've only worked with felons for 20 years.... So, why not show your face? Obliged[align:center]
I rarely show my face because I am not into selfies and mainly hunt alone so nobody to take my pic.
Not above tailgate pics just don't seem to do em.
I Me too bro, but when I do, I don't scribble my face out either... I've posted pics of pards, asked permission first, they're like really??? Post away... Just curious most don't, but quite a few do.
Still waiting to run into a member at a airport or somewhere on my travels
Not afraid to show my face. Not narcissist enough to think anyone would want to see it, though. And, like others, not sure what it has to do with hunting optics. I hope nobody wants to see my face in their scope.

Housing felons may not be the same as sending them to the big house for a long stay.
I try to be as nice and polite as possible to almost everyone I encounter and yet some just want to kill me no matter how polite I am to them.
Thankfully a couple of the most likely idiots killed each other first.

Truth, though they probably don't frequent places like this.....
So, is what your saying, we got some real bad men on here?? 😂😂
I work with a guy like that, airborne, was in Blackhawk down, refused to have his name in the credits at the end of the movie, because he didn't want the recognition....... I was impressed, until I talked to his wife, and found out "the rest of the story".... Lying fuuck got a medical discharge while at boot camp! Haha
Got several other good ones too... And that's why I'm leary.....

With 65,000 members. Odds would say some have done or still do some crazy shît. Fakes, liars, wannabe cops or heroes all can suck a dick...
Dudes that have been their, done that, have my respect for it....Since, I don’t know who’s the real deal, I just choose to believe, until proven otherwise. 😎

What's your name?
His name is Jud Manchild. Now post your pic.
Steers and queers, I guess we ALL now which one you are.
LOL, well hell, if you work/worked with a group and still have enemies, then yes, if you work/worked alone and have no enemies left, then yes, smile and say cheese! ; ]
I don't think I've ever put a picture with myself in it on the internet. I don't know what I'd do if I were going to. I mean, it would be an act of kindness / mercy towards those who might see the picture if I did so. In earlier days, friends in the four wheel drive community blurred out their license plates when posting pictures of their vehicles to avoid having some stalker follow them home, then harm or rob them because the vehicle suggested a level of affluence that might make them a target. Same for a person's face. Depends on who the person is and what is in their past.
I wouldn't be too judgemental of those who prefer a modicum of privacy.
How about full names, Johnny and Judd? Anything else to make us feel you are warm, wonderful gals?
Just took a selfie for ya, judlady out!!
Huh, you got better lookin since the last time you posted a pic of yourself. Smarter lookin too. Probably a bad idea to post info on what guns/optics/ valuables.you have on here and then post pics of yourself or use your real name/address.
Because nothing good can come of having pictures of yourself and other personal information on the internet.
I've been a victim of identity theft a couple of times, people have stolen my social security number and had phones installed in their homes under my name. I've had my credit card number stolen more times than I can count. I shut down my facebook account because it's now routine for employers to monitor employees social media, an innocent picture of someone standing next to a buddies pickup truck with a confederate flag license plate could get somebody branded a racist and fired. I've known several people fired because of what they've put on social media. What's considered OK today might get you fired or prosecuted twenty years from now with the way the social justice warrior crap is going. That picture above with a deer and rifle might get you ostracized 20 years from now if Michael Bloomberg becomes president and convinces the current crop of mush brained kids that guns are the root of all evil. Thirty five years ago when I was in high school if you took a picture of the parking lot at school every pickup in it would have a rifle in a gun rack in the back window, a picture like that today would get the swat team called.
I'm not that good looking anyway, nobody needs to see my picture.

Yep.
I guess I am just not that scared?
We've had several burglaries in my neighborhood in the last couple years. Obviously the perps knew when their victims were at work/out of town/ not home. My brother also recently went through the hell of having his identity stolen.
Hey Beav, MCH lost his shiit on another thread and I poked fun at him... should I retreat to the bunker? or maybe adopt your strategy with the plane ticket? hmmm

Fortified bunker with enough food, drink, and heavy weaponry is best. Do you have a canary? Maybe post the feathered alarm system at the door for good measure. He likes feathers....We’ll get him while he’s distracted by the pretty yellow birdie.
Bar in bunker fully stocked.... negative on the canary.... my Akita will have to suffice...... all we need is a toy helicopter, that will capture his attention... maybe a drone? hmmm we need some strategery, he is a mean dude with a fierce temper, hope the anger management classes work for him.

Don't worry too much. He'll be in a two wheel drive truck and it's doubtful he'll make it there this winter.

Good point B.H. I can just picture him in the ditch, stuck, hollerin obscenities.....
I'm one that doesn't really like showing my face on the 'net....can't really tell ya why. I just prefer to stay hidden in the shadows, I guess. This is the only social media site I have an account for. No Facebook or Instagram for this guy....
I'm not afraid of someone ransacking my house. I was never in law enforcement. All the hodgies I put in flex cuffs wouldn't recognize me these days and I doubt they cruise the American hunting websites...I honestly can't give you a reason why...
When the coast is clear and I can emerge from the bunker I will be there.... already talked to Mark & Fred they are on board. Sam works like 24/7 so hopefully he can sneak away. Big Jim, he is the BOSS, so no worries there..... Too bad Flave be in Floriduh.... loser
Didn’t mean to scar you for life when we laughed at you & Tweety.

I think I do actually have an eHarmony account....which some dickhead friends made for me one time. The worn out "my dick" (is that a pun???) was used to answer the "what do you want to see in a date" line.....and of course my official work eMail was used.

That’s right Ted, I’ve never seen your face either!! Haha
A few rare glimpses of my beautifulness. Please everyone, don't plagiarize these for your online dating accounts... It'd also be a good idea to make sure all wives and daughters have no access to these. I can't be responsible for their libido.
Back in the day.
I'm sure I'll have a change of heart at take them down before tomorrow.

Only other person besides me that I have seen post a spoony on here. Where'd you snag that one?
[bleep], I (wrongly) called a member out a few years ago and he called me at home to chew my ass.
What are you afraid of?

Wish I had pics, the lion on my wall got grabbed by the tail while still alive, fuucker turned, hissed at the Par d and I on a hillside steeper than a cows face, caught a couple 210's from a 41 in a hurry.... I'll never forget that shiit....
That particular cat was going to live, 'till it chomped on a dog.
Long story, but I learned a few valuable lessons that day...Don't shoot FMJs through the chest if you want something to die pronto....A cougar that plays possum as you straddle it (what kind of cougar?) will make a guy crap his drawers, two bullets lodged into a barrel while a lion has a dog in it's mouth is a good way to get a guy's heart rate up and don't kick a lion or yank on it's tail, even if it is being stretched by 4 other hounds.
After an expensive vet bill that first hound was going crazy trying to kill a house cat in a cage in the vet's office...they're persistent.
A wise man once told me that those who live in the past have no future! Pictures are a way of trying to relive the past.
In 100 years nobody will much concern themselves with who you were or what you did. Live in the moment and when that moment is gone make more moments that count for something
How bout living now, and sharing now? Has nothing to do with the past.... personally, I absolutely love pics, and seeing others successes.... blacked out faces, well, I’ve a hunch they’re full of shiit....
God forbid anyone knew, skeeter Skelton, bob melick, John wooters, Ross seyfried, Bart Skelton, Craig boddington, John barsness, Jack o Conner, Elmer Keith and so on... haha

I'm usually the one taking pictures. Heck, if you were to look at all of my family pictures, including hunting pictures, you would assume that I died about 40 years ago.

Nice buck. Always fun to try to get a decent pic in a rain storm, solo, while trying not to get stuck in the woods in the dark. Usually end up with some lame selfie.

Bullschiedt...I'm betting you got a show box full O' snapshots with bigstick. Lmao....well atleast from his nose up so everyone can see both your faces
It’s nice to be in a pic once in awhile as I rarely pack out horn unless it’s a really nice animal. iPhone is easy to prop up against a rifle and get a decent pic with the 10 second timer. When it’s pouring it’s tough to get the touch screen to work and I have trouble getting mine to focus.

Another day at the office. Last day of our regular firearms deer season and I am stuck trying to finish a job up. Be done here in about 30 minutes then on to the next one on Monday.
Dayum, from the Chronicles of Scott. He said he had a dog and an old lady. He left out the pony part. Hell, he quit Campfiring to ranch Christmas Trees part time. Get er dun, Scott.
Used to go every year, catch my Montana fish then hop the border into NoDak and catch 2 more.
Miss doing it, but there's too many rules associated with catching them these days.
We have season here for em.
Minimum length from eye to fork of the tail.
Used to be able to turn legal length fish back but now if it is legal length you must keep it, pretty good reg there.
Assume you sna from the bank and not in a boat?
Here is one that bumped into a minnow on a 1/16 oz jighead. 8# Fireline and a 7 1/2' UL rod, snagged right in the end of the fuggin snout. Was a good fight.
I don't post pictures of anything, don't want my name or image anywhere on the net if I can avoid it, and I don't want my DNA or my off-springs' DNA analyzed by anyone without a court order.
One of my highschool buddies sent me an email with a link to a picture of me at a party in 1977. Who knows what other pictures are out there somewhere? Who knows, or wants to know, if there is an unknown off-spring out there that was the result of a casual one night stand? NOT ME!!!!!!

They feel like you snag a log...that is slowly heading upstream.
Hook one in the tail and you're in for a rodeo, no doubt.
My biggest was just shy of 80 pounds, but have gaffed a few over 100 pounds for folks over the years. Get hit by a tail, and it may as well be a baseball bat.
One more fun fact: they're extremely long lived, like white sturgeon, which is why they're so tightly regulated. They can't repopulate quickly. The 36 lb female I am holding was aged by MFWP at around 40 years old. I assume 10 gauge's is older. I've caught some that were aged at 80 years old.
Always from shore. They're in moving water where I fish for them, so you'd have to anchor up in a slow spot I guess.
That, and with the mass amounts of beer involved, it's probably a good thing I don't cast for them from a boat.
We snag the river but use a boat. Dragging the bottom with a pair of 6/0 trebles and a 10-12 oz sinker. probably 150' of line out, depends on water depth. Boat in gear, sweep the rod forward then go back slowly until you feel that sinker bump bottom then back forward you go. Tiring but worth it when you just start that forward sweep and boom, your hook has hit a brick wall then that wall starts a run!
Several guys around here have started using planer boards and divers. Have only seen that in video though.

Never heard of doing that, but things work differently in different areas I guess. A boat could get you to where they're stacked up for sure...otherwise it's combat fishing in the public access areas waiting for the schools to come through, then all of a sudden 20 people are hooked up at once.
Not a single line gets tangled during those rodeos....ever...promise...

Ted I see you and your pards elk hunt in the new Eastmans great write up
The story was published by Eastmans, but they cut it wayyyy back...There also wasn't a single picture of my bull in the article. We sent several photos, and they only used a few. No biggie to me, but it did seem odd. They asked for a 1000-1200 word story, then cut it down a lot more.

I don't think it is online yet, unless you pay for the article so I do not have a link. Sorry about that. It is in Eastman's Hunting Journal 176, I believe. The Dec 2019-Jan 2020 issue.

What makes you think it's fear, not prudence or just a desire for a bit of privacy in this world where that's almost never an option any more.
Some time ago another member (who shall remain nameless😜) wondered why everyone used handles and avatars instead of being reticent about it. The answers he got were varied, but practical.
I, on the other hand, wonder why so many are obsessed with plastering their names, faces, "accomplishments", and those of their family all over the www.
If someone else covered this, I apologize, but no way am I reading eleven pages to avoid duplication.

I guess the ones I "care" about are the braggerts and shiit talkers pappy. That's all.
That should be pretty much self-explanatory, I would think.🤔
Happy Thanksgiving, btw. I'm cooking today to get back to the killing asap. Good luck to all still trying to make meat, or more meat, as the case may be.
And your one of em..... Sorry you have soooo much to learn, the best way to learn, is to do... Hint
I hunt to kill, to be successful, if I want a nature walk I got all year to do that, in a hellava lot better weather and a hellava lot cheaper.... As for venison it yet given to folks at work, folks in the locales I hunt or neighbors... You want "good" eating, go buy a ribeye....
"Housed"?
I'll take a guess at my own question, does this mean like an inn keeper?

I was thinking more along the lines of a bathhouse given his love for black things with gold rings.
Just kidding Judd. Please don’t personally destroy me and my life on the internet.
Do you have to check them in and get the eggs removed?
Used to not need to, but at the popular public access areas the Montana FWP had trailers set up to get their data, then a third party was there to clean your fish for free, if you donated the eggs.
I don't doubt that you're required to check the fish into MT FWP these days.

Side note: After using my real name all these years, I've realized that it helps keep me accountable for what I say/post when I consider that anyone from "real life" whose opinion I may value can Google my name and all my posts come up. As a result, the things that I post tend to be things I'd be willing to say in a FTF discussion.

That should be a given, though I bet alotta folks would change their tune in a ftf talk

Pretty much why I added my first name to my sig line, there is only a population of 5500 in our region.

Exactly. I bet if everyone used their real name, there would be less machoism on the forums.
Some folks have jobs that are very sensitive. Their faces on the net could put them and their families in compromising situations. I know this is true in some cases on here...

Not meaning to offend, but truly very curious what your fascination with pictures of other MEN. I could see if you asked the question, let people answer, and then let it lie, but your not letting it lie, you seem downright obsessed. So, if I may ask, what gives? What is your motivation, what fuels your obsession? Tom
Tom, the answers are throughout the this whole thread, I’m really sorry if your unable to pic up on that that... as far as “fueled obsession “, motivation etc etc, other men and stuff that horns you up, it is a simple question, pure curiosity, as mentioned by several other members, it is nice to put a face to the name.... still trying to figger out, this day and age of being able to google someone’s name, and gettin all the info one could want, ie; relatives, address, phone number, job location, posting a huntin picture under a forum name, would put someone in danger..
He’s asking a question a lot of people ask themselves. I see pictures of guys faces blobbed out etc. my question is the same why? I do know some guys will save the pictures for unknown creepy reasons. Several yrs ago on another hunting forum I posted a picture of a brown bear I shot in unit 16B. What a lot idiots up here in Alaska didn’t know 16B was a predator control unit and if you had a trapping license etc you could hunt brown bears. So most assumed I poached a brown bear out of season, copied my picture sent it to the state troopers. Holy ph uck my buddy was getting calls from people the state troopers called the fish and game, fish and game called me and told me, then was told why did you post a story about predator control etc. All because I posted a story and a picture. But I still post pictures of myself occasionally. If you want to see my old fat a$$ go to my tma hunt story I posted last year😁
I don’t even have a picture anymore lol, computer crashed on us few yrs back and lost a bunch of pictures. It was a bad picture anyhow my buddy took, bear looked small etc. but people didn’t realize had a big ol nogging on it typical 16b bear.

I had my feelings taken out with my tonsils when I was 7.
