CDC published a technical review of masks this May 2020, and the bottom line is they are not effective.
There are numerous published technical papers stating that masks do not work, and no peer reviewed papers that say they are effective.
I guess they are like a teddy bear, and people cling to them out of fear.

Very specific masks must be used for instance with TB which is a very small droplet spread disease. None of the masks available to the public would prevent catching TB. Comparing Corona virus to TB is like comparing a very small pinhead to a hot dog. Do the math stupid. It requires an electron microscope to get a blurry image of the Corona but the TB bacteria can be seen with a regular light microscope.

I have to wear a" mask or face covering" at work. So I bought a black ski mask style hood made of super thin material and I wear a black ball cap so the only exposed skin is my eyes.

All that wearing a mask does for the general public is spread the virus. Most doctors wash their hands regularly and wear gloves along with a mask. The general public is continually touching their face and adjusting their mask. All that after they blow snott, cough and then wipe it off with their hands. On occasion I have to wear one, usually a bandana I keep handy for such things. Dr offices and such, and to be somewhat respectful (one of them is shoving a needle in my eye every 4-6 weeks!) I wear something to make them feel comfortable.

I have been tested and found lacking the plague but the fine folks at the lab would not do the blood test to see if i had already had it and got over it.

Well, I am friends with several doctors and know a few others too. One says she will wear the masks and believes Dr Fauci. (just in passing, she's also hard left in her politics)

One other thinks it's not a bad thing to do, but way over rated.

All the rest (totaling 6) say it's a total waist of time, and one who I personally believe is the most outspoken and least afraid of public opinions says masks are an "I'm a fool flag" <<<(His exact words.)

One I have talked to only 2 times on the phone from Nevada is an actual virologist. She said the scale of the pours of the mask can be understood my seeing the hanger doors on a commercial airport, where the big jet liners go in to be worked on. I will quote her here as perfectly as I can remember, word for word "If you were the Covid19 virus the hanger door is the size of the pours of the best mask we wear in surgery. We have known for 100 years masks can't catch viruses, but only bacteria ,and then only when it's suspended in water or liquid droplets"


When I asked her is they did an good at all she said some may be caught in droplets but about 90% get through when the mask is dry and not starting to condense with moisture from your breath, which means it works at it's top efficiency for stopping about 10% of the virus for about 3 minutes. After that it's nearly 100% useless. As the mask gets more wet the moist breath simply forces it way around the barrier and if it's breathed through it forces micro fine droplets of condensed water (containing the very virus you tried to stop) out into the air and new moisture pushing on the moisture that was already there.

The analogy of placing a 4 foot chain link fence around your home to stop mosquitoes is actually inaccurate because to be the correct scale the spacing of the links would have to be 14 inch squares. No mosquito is stopped by the fence and the truth is that 99.999% will be going around it anyway.

I’d love to hear about the effectiveness of a “serious” mask.

In Colorado you wear one inside public places or crowds outside.. That is because this gay POS governor decreed it and there is now a fine if caught. So we wear one. I have been wearing one frequently due to the heavy smoke from all the Colorado fires.I have been wearing one for years when in the barn because all the hay dust and I have bad lungs.

The mandates are ridiculous. Wear one if you want, or not, I really don’t care, our government does not have the authority to force us to wear one, but we have allowed them to do it.

I still travel, you are not flying without one. I had a great trip to Alaska a couple of weeks back, the penalty for going was wearing a mask on the plane and in the airport. Hell of a lot better than sitting home.
